It was evening and Vetri was working on his field. He decides to take a break to have tea at the usual tea stall nearby. Vetri gets out of the field when he sees Malar walking towards him from a distance.

Vetri was surprised to see Malar. Malar rarely came to the field and even if she did, it was usually to pass him lunch. What was even more surprising was that Malar was wearing a salwar suit, just like she wore before marriage. Vetri walks towards Malar.
Vetri: What brings you here Malar?
Malar: Why? Am i not supposed to come here?
Vetri: Not like that. You rarely come this side. That is why I asked.
Malar has a smile on her face.
Malar: I am here because i feel like taking a shower.
Vetri: What?
Malar: Will you please help to run the water in the pump set? Or must I do that myself?
Vetri smiles.
Vetri: Must you even ask? I would do anything for you. Come, let's go to the pump set.

Malar walks in front of Vetri while talking. Vetri follows her while admiring her beauty. Malar had tied her hair up in a ponytail and with every step, her hair was bouncing. Malar kept turning back after a few steps to make sure Vetri was following behind. Each time she turned, Vetri was captivated with her smile. Her smile had so much of purity and warmth.

Malar's eyes shined just like a child who was excited. He knew that Malar was genuinely happy and that made Vetri happy.

Once they reached the pump set, Vetri goes to the mortar room and switches on the pump. He then comes out to see Malar still standing.
Vetri: What happened?
Malar shakes her head to signal nothing and extends her hand. Vetri holds her and helps her get into the tank. Then, he turns to leave when Malar calls out to him.
Malar: Mama
Vetri turns and Malar splashes water at him. Vetri smiles.
Vetri: What are you doing Malar?
Malar: I should be the one asking you. What are you doing?
Vetri: I'm going to the side to wait for you. You take your time and have fun.

Malar: Oh! So you are leaving me alone?
Vetri: Don't worry. No one will come.

Vetri who is confused looks at her.
Malar: I came here to spend time with you but you seem to like the mortar room more than me.
Malar puts up a sad face while Vetri laughs at her antics.
Vetri: Okay fine. I'll sit right here.
Malar has a huge smile on her face.
Malar: Love you Mama!
Vetri: Love you too!
Vetri watches Malar play with the water with a big smile. His Malar was always a child at heart.
