It was ten in the morning and unlike his usual routine of working in his fields, Vetri had been sitting at his favorite place (apart from home) - the tent he had built as a shelter from the scorching midday sun and had been staring into blank space. One look and anyone would know that Vetri was not his usual self.

He was physically present but his thoughts were all around his favorite woman - Malarvizhi. Just the name was enough to make his heart skip beats and a thousand butterflies fly in his tummy. One and a half years of marriage had just intensified the love he had for her.

The events that took place the previous night had been replaying in his head. He had just parked his bike when it had started to drizzle with a light breeze. Mentally thanking the rain gods for having waited till he had reached home, Vetri hurried in clutching a bag. As quickly as he could, he makes his way to the room and pushes open the door. He walks over to Malar with a big smile and passes her the bag. Seeing no major reaction, he prompts her to open the bag and take a look. Malar notices a note on the bag and reads it before looking inside. There was a beautiful saree that Vetri had handpicked for her as a gift from his profits for the year. Without any change in reaction, she goes to the cupboard and places the bag inside. Malar then quietly proceeds to her side of the bed and lies down to sleep. It was very unusual for Malar to not react and Vetri had started mentally guessing the possible reasons for her behaviour. But seeing that she had already dosed off, he brushes asides his thoughts and proceeds to sleep as well.

What Vetri did not know that he was in for a big surprise. Although Malar did not quite express her feelings when she received the gift from Vetri, she already had a plan in mind and was just waiting for the right time to execute it. Since Vetri had then fell asleep, he had also missed noticing an important cue - her peeping to see if he was still awake and seeing that he was not, smiling at her cute husband before falling asleep, this time for real.

Vetri, who had still been thinking Malar, was now filled with thought about how his Malar would look in the saree. It was one of the combos that he thought suited her really well and just imagining her in that saree was making him fall more in love. He had been lost in thoughts for a while now when all of a sudden, a gust of wind caresses his cheek and a slight shiver runs down his spine. Vetri jolts from his dreamland and the sight before him makes his eye widen and his jaw drop.
*Vetri's mindvoice* - Kanava ethachum kannuromo? Irukkum irukkum! Malarah pathi nenapu vanthalae ava ella edathula theriva!
Shrugging off his thoughts, he moves towards the field when it suddenly strikes him that he was definitely seeing her, for real.

A huge smile appears on his face because there she was - Malar in the exact saree that he had just been imagining her to be in. That moment, everything around them was non existent.

All that mattered was his favourite woman - who came into his life as an accident but had now weaved magic and had made it beautiful and complete.

With every step she takes, his heart beat quickens and his smile gets wider. She definitely had some sort of a magic spell cast on him. Flashes of beautiful moments with Malar appear before his eyes and exhilaration fills him.

Meanwhile, seeing the smile on Vetri's face widened the smile on Malar's face. Vetri had always been the giving one in their relationship and had always made her smile, even during the toughest of times. Malar had felt that it was time that she gave him more reasons to smile.

As she reaches the spot where he was standing, Vetri opens his mouth to say something but words fail him. He just takes a deep breath and sighs looking at the angelic sight before him.

Seeing Vetri note her appearance from top to toe, Malar raises her eyebrows to question him if she looked beautiful. She receives the reply in the form of a gesture for her to come closer (Vetri opens his arms wide and waits for her). Smiling, she moves in closer and hugs him. Both of them smile because they both knew that they were in the safest space ever (in each other's arms).
