Chapter 13 Night Before the First Quest

I went inside the front guild building to head to the archives just to check out some information on the magic silver wolves for tomorrow. When I reached the stairs I saw Princess Anne coming up.

"I thought you would have gone back to the Marquis Estate?" I asked when I saw her

"No, since it is so close I decided to wait for you for a little while." She replies

"Well, I was gonna look up some material on magic silver wolves for tomorrow, care to join me?" I asked before I realized that was probably what she was doing just now... Before she could answer and reject my offer "O-o-or umm I could walk you home since I figure you just looked up the magic silver wolves huh?" I say scratching my head

"Haha it's fine, I'll join you in your research." She said with a cute smile. Seeing her smile at me like that made my heart pound, and I don't know why.

We start to descend the dimly lit stairs together. When we got down to the archives we found the information we needed quickly and went to a table to study.

"So how did your enchantment practice go?" She asked curiously after a little while of us going over materials for tomorrow

"It went alright, I only just started learning about it. I'll go back in two weeks for another lesson. I did finish 12 slot enchantments on some daggers." I replied.

"That's good to hear. You seem to make lightning-fast progress in all magic fields." She says slyly

"Umm, what do you mean by that?" I ask

"Well, Lilin said you discovered pseudo combination magic the day you revealed your soul skill. Beph said you mastered spells of red level in the transcendental category first. Lastly, Lena continues to boast about you, her blue-level adventurer brother." She said slightly teasingly

"Sorry, if they made you uncomfortable, I'm sure you didn't really want to hear all that stuff about me huh?" I said shyly

"Actually I was the one that asked about you first." She said cheerfully

"Well, It's still a little embarrassing. By the way, I have something for you. I was going to give it to you tomorrow, but it might be useful to practice with them." I say trying to change the subject.

Princess Anne's eyes lit up at the mention of a present. I pull out the three daggers I just enchanted for Princess Anne. Her face falls a bit "Oh, thank you."

"I enchanted these three daggers for you," I say. "This one is enchanted with red level space magic [warp], just pour mana in and you will be able to move 100 meters away from an enemy," I explain the first dagger, and how to use it. "The second dagger I enchanted with red level chaos magic [distort]. It has an even faster activation time than [warp] and will allow you to deflect or redirect energy pointed at you. Basically, it can stop physical and magical attacks up to a certain level." I say as I hold up the second dagger. "Last but not least, this one is enchanted with red level time magic [slow speed]. [slow speed] slows the passage of time by about ten times. Only use this in absolute emergencies because it takes a lot more energy than a normal red level spell. This one only lasts about 3 actual seconds, but it will feel like 30 seconds." I say as I hold up the last dagger.

Princess Anne's face seemed to change from disappointment to surprise to happiness as I was explaining what each dagger was enchanted with.

"These enchantments make these daggers each near priceless. You could easily sell them for very high prices with those effects. Why give them to me?" She asks a little hesitantly
