Chapter 28 I am a Noble Now

I open up my eyes to see golden hair and stormy grey/blue eyes staring down at me. "I must be dreaming about seeing Anne again. Though she is never this close or ever seems to watch me like this..." I mutter to myself.

"Ohoho so you dream about Anne do you? How cute" Her Majesty Queen Lizel laughed lightly

That jolted me awake, "Ahh, Your Majesty. I'm sorry!" I said in a panic seeing her in my room

"It's okay, you must have been exhausted after that spell. If anything I should apologize to you for waking you." Her majesty responded lightly "You must care quite deeply for Anne to see her in your dreams though." She continued smiling

"Yes, my dreams tend to wander between my party members. I have been told it is a side effect of being a spirit mage to see those that I care about what they are doing sometimes. Oh umm, Your Majesty please don't tell Anne. I care a lot about her, but don't want her to get angry at me for spying on her, even if I don't necessarily mean to." I answer shyly

"Ohoho well, then it can be our secret then. But should I not tell those other beautiful ladies that you dream of them as well?" She says with a playful smile

"Please no. I mean Circe and Lady Cara already kind of know as we have interacted in dreams but it would still be embarrassing." I answer shyly

"Ohoho, you must care deeply about all of them then. Very well," she says back

"Umm Your Majesty, how long was I asleep and why are you in my room?" I ask

"Lizel.." She retorts back

"Huh?"

"Call me Lizel unless it is a formal occasion." She explains "Also this used to be my timeout room when I was younger. It's nice to see that Cleione has been able to give it some life and Cass has then given to you to use freely." Lizel says with a smile. "As for how long you have been asleep, only about 2 hours, the banquet is still going on strongly. My husband is going to make an announcement soon so I came to fetch you." Lizel explained kindly

"Umm, why not send one of the maids or ask one of the girls in my party?" I asked hesitantly

"I wanted to know something." She answered

"And did you find out what you wanted to know?" I asked back curiously

"Yes, partially. Now if you feel better please return to the banquet in the next half hour." Lizel says as she walks over to the door and exits.

I rinsed my face, straightened my clothes, and headed back down to the banquet. I tried to find my party members but they have all split up, most of them are talking to different small groups. Ciara is by other young ladies around her age. Cara is chatting with some tall noble guy who looks slightly older than us. Lilin, Lena, and Beph are together but they are surrounded by a bunch of guys that look like nobles as well. Anne is sitting next to her father at the head table. Circe and Colna are by Director Justo and Herrero surrounded by some adventurers. Even Marquis and Marchioness Richards are busy entertaining some guests. I see Francesca, and Raim, and even Quin serving food and clearing plates. Everyone is busy and seems like they are having some fun. Uncle Rye is still chatting with some military people and Rei is probably back on duty since the imperial family is here. I quietly grab a plate of food and head out to the terrace. The terrace is quiet and there is a nice breeze flowing. I quietly begin to eat my food when someone behind me says

"Why is the supposed guest of honor the least present at their own banquet?"

I turned around and Princess Anne had changed since I went upstairs for a quick nap and was standing there, her silky golden hair tied up elegantly held together by braids that form a crown. She has a light touch of makeup that is barely noticeable but still emphasizes her stormy eyes and wearing a blue gown trimmed in gold that matches my own jacket. She looks regal and stunning, and my heart flutters seeing her.
