I walk into the workshop sit down and begin designing what I am going to make for Princess Joan's wedding. When I talked to King Henry 5 days ago, he told me that although the marriage itself was arranged he truly loves Princess Joan. When I asked what made him fall in love with her in the first place, he replied 'Her spearmanship'. I have never seen King Henry or Princess Joan actually fight, but Anne told me that the Sylph Kingdom was known for their spear arts. Since Princess Joan knew she was going to become betrothed to Henry when she was still quite young she decided to take up the spear as well. I fully intend to (contract) spiritai into this wedding present, but it should be able to be passed down through the generations of the Sylph Royal family. Therefore instead of a sword, I plan on making a naginata. It's like a combination of a sword and a spear.

I had ordered some magic metal as crafting materials. Even with all the money I have been getting from commissions, quests, and my Fyreed Works, it still cost me almost a third of what I had saved up lately just to get my hands on workable ingots of magic metals. I got 5 ingots of each magic metal; Orichalcum, Mythril, Adamantium, Thunder Iron, Fyreed, Paladininite, and Espiritisium.

I decided to use the magic metal Thunder Iron for the majority of this blade. Thunder Iron is stronger than steel, never dulls, and is one of the few inorganic materials that can draw in and amplify all types of soul energy. However, its soul energy amplification effects are weaker than some of the other magic metals that absorb, enhance and amplify only one or two types of soul energy. Orichalcum enhances personality type soul skills, or creation energy according to Belphene. Mythril enhances magic, Adamantium enhances combat or destruction energy, and Espiritium, which is extremely rare, enhances the connection to spiritai. Although Fyreed also amplifies every type of soul skill energy it is too soft to make a weapon out of, and Paladinite reflects every type of soul energy that could harm the user if made into a weapon and used to channel soul energy so the best option was Thunder Iron.

I pick up two ingots of Thunder Iron and bring them to the forge. I am also layering in layers of normal steel in order to increase the durability and the amplification effect of the Thunder Iron. The Thunder Iron Damascus will hopefully improve how it looks.

As all the pieces of metal are heating up I carefully channel all types of my soul energy into the metal. This is to better prepare the artifact to channel and amplify all types of soul energy later. Yami and Hikari had told me that Reiken allows a person to control many types of spiritai that are contracted to the blade itself, but it would be very hard to draw out a substantial amount of power unless putting more soul energy than usual. This is because of inefficiencies of energy conversion of the spiritai (contract) to the blade, and because I used only mana to forge and temper Reiken and make the seal.

After the layers of the Thunder Iron and the steel became hot enough, I began to shape them into billets while pouring more of my various types of soul energy. Once they were all shaped, I began to reheat them. I then carefully forge-welded them together and maintained the various streams of my soul energy. It was absolutely exhausting. Once I had a single solid billet to work with, the real work began.

"Please, let me catch my breath?!" Rohn gasped aloud to Yami

"Nope, A monster and savage magic beast won't give you time to breathe in combat, and neither will a smart opponent," Yami says casually

"At least you can actually get a hit on her!!!" Rhea yells exasperatedly trying to aim at Yami.

The Magias Shadows had quickly learned how to use their new equipment under the tutelage of Anne, Iris, Belphene, Yami, and Colna. Anne then suggested that the party trains against one of them to increase their teamwork and further learn to control their new equipment. They chose to have a mock battle against Yami.
