Yesterday after school I dropped off the three cuirasses to Herrero, today the royal guard squad is coming to pick up the artifacts. Since it is his commission, I and Colna felt that it wasn't necessary to be present when the guards picked it up. I also didn't really question that a squad of royal guards had come from the capital because according to Rei, they often get dispatched from the capital. Their missions can be anything from clearing dangerous monsters that adventurers don't handle, helping local lords, or even random patrols. Plus although it's technically supposed to be a secret the third imperial princess is also here so royal guards coming to check the safety of the area isn't hard to fathom. Therefore I acted as I would on a normal weekend and met up with my party at the guild to do a quest or so I thought...

When I walked into the guild I only saw Cara there.

"Good morning Cara, where is Kiers?"

"She's back at the estate, She has to get something ready," Cara answered calmly

"Ohh, well we can wait. Are you the only one here?" I asked.

Cara's face went a bit dark. "Yes, does that cause dissatisfaction to you?" She asked seriously

"Not at all. I mean getting seen alone with you, who is such a beautiful girl will definitely cause some jealousy, but other than that no I am not dissatisfied." I answer jovially

For some reason, Cara begins to blush deeply, but then she breaks out into a wide charming smile that seems to brighten the room.

"Since you're smiling again, I'm going to call the others. They all said they would meet up so hopefully, they aren't too far." I say "By the way what kind of quest did you girls pick yesterday?"

"Well the thing is we agreed to meet up at the estate today, but we realized after you left from walking Lady Kiers and me home that we just assumed you would be staying over at the estate and hadn't told you," Cara answers doggedly.

"Hahaha then why not just text me?" I laugh

"Because I was the one to win this chance..." Cara mumbled

"Huh, Cara I couldn't hear what you said?" I asked back when I heard her mumble something

"Oh, I just wanted to come to meet you and talk with you a bit," Cara responds with another radiant smile.

"Haha well if my company is alright with you, I will gladly escort you back to the estate Lady Cara," I say with a smile and a slight bow

"I entrust myself to your care," Cara answers back politely.

She had a slight blush which made her extremely cute. If only I had the confidence, and proper standing, I may have asked her out. However even if Marquis and Marchioness Richards see me as a part of the household, I am not a noble. Many other nobles wouldn't look too kindly at the eldest daughter of a respectable noble going out with a commoner, especially a commoner with no 'extraordinary' talent on paper. I still haven't even submitted anything on combination magic or baseline, variable, and concept tie formations yet, so my only thing going for me is a decent rank as an adventurer. Gold-rank adventurers are treated as lower nobles but I am only blue, and Lady Cara is still the oldest child of an upper noble family. My chances with someone like Cara are near impossible, not to mention even thinking about Princess Anne. Even when she is hiding her identity she is still about the same rank as Cara. All this quickly runs through my head as I start thinking about how I am surrounded by beautiful women. Any normal man would definitely be jealous, they don't even realize how hard and troublesome it can be. It's like being a bear in a glass box surrounded by delicious fruit. I can see and smell them but they are all just out of reach to taste. I can only hope they don't end up rotting because people are too afraid of the bear.
