Chapter 50 Deeper Talks

We woke up early, just as the sun was starting to rise. Everyone boarded onto four different carriages. In the first carriage, Lieutenant Handy was in charge of handling the horses. Ciara, Cara, and Beph were riding in that carriage. The second carriage had Rei in charge of the reins and had Prince Geordo and Anne. Iris was in charge of the third carriage with Lilin, Lena, Circe, and Colna. The last carriage was being driven by the Guard Lieutenant Corale, I and Gabrielle were riding with her.

When Gabrielle and I boarded the carriage with our luggage I turned and said "Lieutenant Corale, thank you for taking time out to take us back to Fortuna, if there is anything I can do to ease the burden of transporting us please let me know?"

"Viscount Magias, it is my honor to be selected for this trip back. We also have planned where and when to take breaks. I was supposed to ask you if you needed or wanted anything to make this trip more comfortable." Lieutenant Corale responded politely

"Well, you could just address me as Wats and keep it more casual?" I ask

"Alright, well then you can call me Alex." She responds politely

"Ok, well Alex, what type of soul skill do you have"

"Gold level nature type [sunlight]. I can bend, focus and reflect the rays of the sun. Given enough time, I can even make us invisible." Alex calmly replies.

"Very nice. Well, hopefully just your equestrian skills are needed during this trip." I say kindly

"Thank you, Viscount... um, Wats," Alex replies back stiffly.

Gabrielle then snuggles up to me and begins to doze off. I watch as we leave the capital and the scenery changes. Suddenly Gabrielle sits up, and her eyes snap open, but they aren't her usual kaleidoscopic colors but glassy and she begins to recite something, her voice layered on top of itself. " Sage of 5 souls, fights Heaven and Hell, loves 14 angels, and rules over realms. What one side has the other can not allow. Salvation or destruction all will follow. Choices made, paths forged, people saved, enemies gorged..." Before she finishes she snaps back and her eyes clear up.

"Gabrielle, you just recited another prophecy," I tell her a bit worried

"Can you write down what I said?" She asks worriedly

"Yes, of course." I pull out a notepad and write down exactly what she said before handing it to her. She takes it shakingly and reads the contents. She looks really freaked out so I silently pull her into a hug, and just hold her until she calms down.

When we stop for our first break, Gabrielle tells the rest of the party about the new prophecy. I then tell them about the devil lord wars, and the Hero Blanco Namae, and his 14 angels, as well as the time limit of 5 years on Kxhaoxix's seal.

"And I thought that the behemoth in the south was going to be a big task." Prince Geordo comments

"That is still the most immediate threat, we will deploy to subjugate it in a few weeks." Rei answers back confidently

"Well, I think the most immediate concern is the two quests for all of you," I say smiling to try to get rid of the tension. Anne smiles back first and soon everyone in the party is laughing lightly.

"You are right darling, if we fail or rely on Rei and Iris, then we have no right to stand with you in battle. We can't afford to embarrass you or our party." Anne declares

"Yeah!" the other girls all agreed. The first rest was planned because there is a small patch of waxy belladonna around this area. The girls are going to try and complete part of the two quests here, while Prince Geordo, Lieutenant Handy, and Lieutenant Corale will wait by the carriages. When my party leaves, I feel a slight tightening in my chest, but I agreed to trust them.
