Chapter 23 First True Combination Magic?

When we arrived at the estate, the guards bowed and let everyone pass without trouble. It seems that since Culo's dad was removed from his post the guards have all become much more friendly. Francesca and Quin were waiting for us at the door.

"Welcome back young master, Marquis Richards is not ready yet, however since Lady Cara said that she is bringing new friends over we have prepared some snacks and refreshments outside by the training field," Francesca says with a bow

"Alright, do you know about how long he will be?" I ask back

"He said he has some work to finish first, but he should be available in about an hour or so," Francesca answers back

"Alright. I'm going to change, I'll meet you guys outside." I say turning back to everyone. Quin does a light curtsy to everyone before guiding me to my room.

"Lady Cara, is Wats your relative?" Circe asks curiously

"No, however since Father has taken quite the liking to him he is like a son of this household. Why?" Cara asks back

"It's just he seems so comfortable like he was born and raised a noble." Circe muses

"Well he is already like a professor at his age, a noble-born wouldn't be as far a stretch to imagine," Cara replies wistfully

"What do you mean? I thought he said he has a lesson with your father and Lady Kiers?" Circe questions confused

"Haha, guess he didn't really explain it did he? Wats is acting as the tutor to Marquis Richards and myself in magic study." Kiers chimes in merrily

"What? But he's just a high schooler? Circe added

"His power alone is extraordinary, I couldn't even cause him to sweat," Colna adds

"As powerful as he is, it doesn't even compare to the achievements he has made and will make in magic," Kiers responds longingly

"What do you mean by that?" Colna asks bewildered

"Just watch our practice later," Kiers says with a half-smile

I went up to my room and quickly changed. I then had Quin go to attend the girls after I had her bring me some paper and a few pens and pencils. I had an idea earlier when I used mind magic and summoning magic to tame Regulus earlier during class. I pulled out the book of baseline concept formations with all my notes that I had figured out last night, my observations on the concept tie formations, and my speculations on the variable concepts.

Then I activate my new derivative skill (spell concept). I know my eyes are open but I see nothing but black. I can feel my hand moving across the paper, and all the magic formation parts seem to circle around me. I instinctually understand what the formations mean but couldn't begin to describe how or what they are. The labels of the baseline concepts were just that, a superficial label to identify what each concept formation really affected. Each one represented so much more. I felt how they interact, and how to organize the different parts. I couldn't keep track of time or even the feeling of my own body. It was like I was floating in the night sky, magic formations to make a magic circle danced around me like stars.
