Chapter 33 My First Lessons

I entered the classroom with Cara and Anne right before the bell rang. We quickly found our seats and sat down. I could hear a couple of guys behind me snickering about something but didn't care to turn around. I was beginning to get anxious but Anne just leaned over and affectionately whispered in my ear "just treat it like a tutoring lesson with me"

"Even though she is engaged it looks like the Princess has something for the school's princess guard" someone behind me makes that snide comment

I got angry and was about to turn around when Cara lightly stopped me with a quick whisper. Mrs. Abernathy then walked in, and the class got quiet.

"Today we have a very special guest lecturer. I am sure many of you have at least heard his name mentioned recently quite frequently." Mrs. Abernathy begins then waves for me. I stand up and move to the front of the class next to her. "Please give a warm welcome to Viscount Wats Resero Magias, Fyreed Order Mage First Class" Mrs. Abernathy finishes. The whole class is stunned and quiet.

I pull out my Fyreed Order medal from my infinite storage "Good afternoon class, my name is Wats, today we will be discussing a portion of magic circles called concept tie formations. However I would like to find out how much you guys know about them first, also I have much to learn as well so please be lenient on me." I say introducing myself

The whole class is still just silent. I was just starting to get uncomfortable and was about to start from the beginning when what I feared the most happened. A huge uproar traveled through the class, and I was bombarded with different questions. Most of them were along the lines of "How would I know anything" or "How did I become a Viscount and a Fyreed Mage" even "How my relationship with Princess Anne started."

"Ummm please settle down, I will answer some of your questions in...." I tried to calm the ruckus but no one calmed down. Finally, Cara seemed to get angry and cast red-level spirit magic [focus point]. This spirit spell draws all attention to a single point. With that the cacophony of noise and overlapping questions became quiet and the students began to pay attention. I nodded my thanks to Cara.

I activate my (instruct) derivative skill, "I understand many of you are confused as to why I am standing in front of you right now. I am Viscount Wats Resero Magias Fyreed Order Mage First Class. I was not a noble until recently. My soul skill is gold level [magic manipulation]. I was awarded the position of Viscount as well as the title of Fyreed Order Mage First Class by Emperor Humana with the approval of the Fyreed council." I reintroduce myself emphasizing my credentials. "Now who would be willing to tell me what they know of concept tie formations?" I ask again.

This time multiple hands go up. I call on a girl with pink hair. "Concept tie formations are a part of a magic circle that links baseline concept formations with variable formations. Because Higher level spells need more links between baseline concepts and variable formations it was concluded that more concept tie formations equal more mana needed to cast a spell," she answers

"They are just minor auxiliary formations in a magic circle" another boy calls out

"The least amount of information is known about concept tie formations!" someone else shouts out.

"Well, you are all correct. However previously specific formations weren't individually identified and they were acknowledged as a part of a spell but never really researched. Now, what was your name?" I say pointing to the pink-haired girl

"Sakura." the pink-haired girl answered calmly

"As Ms. Sakura mentioned, the more concept tie formations in the spell the more mana it takes to cast. What if I said you could then take existing spells and streamline them to use fewer concept tie formations?" I asked to see if that would pique interest
