Chapter 69 Learning the Truth

The discussions started between King Henry and Queen Dragonia, and her team of advisors.

"We the Sylph Kingdom will take responsibility for the disappearance of King Julien until the true culprits can be found and apprehended. We would like your cooperation in searching for the missing King Julien." King Henry explains calmly.

"Why should we help, so that the appearance of working together saves your public image? Your country kidnapped our King, Return him or suffer the consequences!" Queen Dragonia exclaimed angrily

"Queen Dragonia, we have no reason to take King Julien. I understand how important he is to you, but please do not be so immature as to let your judgment be clouded by your emotions." King Henry warns sternly

"Our acting queen can become however emotional she wants in the face of those that openly lie and won't give our king back." Futei hisses angrily

"Heika, you should control your emotions if you are going to rule the beastkin." General Tsuyoi said calmly to Queen Dragonia

"If I may interject, both of you please refrain from insults and baseless accusations right now. We are here to discuss the options and possible actions to be taken." Anne interjects calmly

"The options for the Sylph Kingdom have already been laid out, and the longer we spend discussing what to do instead of actually doing anything the less likely my father will be found alive." Queen Dragonia says getting angry, tears starting to roll down her face. It made her look more our age and relatable, rather than being imposing as the Crystal Dragonkin Queen. I realized how much she must really care for her father.

"I don't know what happened to your father, but I want to take the second option of returning him to you. However, I have even less of a lead as to where to start than you do, so I propose that we work together, and if we can not find him in the 2 weeks you have indicated, I as King of Sylph will surrender the tri lands and Mythril mines." King Henry declared firmly

"A honeyed tongue to disguise the blackened heart. Heika, I still think this is a trick of the Sylph King to draw our attention away from his court's evil deed of taking King Julien Prisoner." Advisor Futei hissed coldly

"Why not just have the guard who brought everyone here at least tell where King Julien was last seen?" I ask flatly

"He is resting to recover from wounds sustained in escape and searching for King Julien." Advisor Futei says making excuses

"No, bring him here. I want to hear his story again." Dragonia sternly turns to Advisor Futei.

"As you wish, Heika." Advisor Futei says bowing down.

A few minutes later and a sataur came limping into the tent we were holding the discussions. He had multiple lacerations across his body, and I could tell that he also had a couple of broken bones. "Iris, can you cast some healing magic on that guard?" I ask turning to Iris

"Sure thing, babydoll." Iris calmly stated then pulled out her [life/soul increase] wand and cast [mega heal]. The lacerations on the body of the sataur began to heal and the broken bones began to set and mend. "It will still take a day or two for your bones to set properly, but otherwise you should be as good as new," Iris explains flatly.

"Wow what a powerful display of healing magic." General Inuka said amazed.

"Will you please tell us who you are, and what happened to King Julien, as well as where you last saw him?" I ask casually

The guard flits his gaze to Advisor Futei before beginning to speak. "My name is Grover Kutsugaesu. I am a royal guard of Dracas appointed to King Julien Faust Dracas as an escort to meet with King Henry Arbos Winfrey Sylph of the Sylph kingdom. After meeting with King Henry, King Henry insisted that we take some extra guards and assigned some Sylph Royal guards to travel back with King Julien and the Dracas guard. When we got to the Trilands, Captain Kani felt that we were being followed and went to investigate. He was attacked and called for backup. We initially thought it was bandits, so in order to protect our King, we spread out to cover more ground. While I was fighting off what I thought were bandits, I noticed a commotion back at the King's location. When I got back there though, the King and the sylph guards were gone. I looked around for my fellow guardsmen and found many of them dead or dying. I figured that the Sylph Kingdom guards had kidnapped King Julien, and the only reason I was able to escape to tell the message was that Captain Kani sacrificed his life for me to get away. The place where we were betrayed, and the last place I saw King Julien is a couple of km from this point right here." the guard Grover explains. He then angrily glares at King Henry.
