Camila POV
,,Camila! Breath! Mila, breath with me!" I heard Mary's voice, but it somehow felt so far away even if I saw her right in front of my eyes.
I felt my hands shaking and my heart raising in a way I couldn't describe because I never felt like that in my whole life.
,,Mommy... What is happening, grandma?" I heard Riley's sweet voice and that somehow did the trick and I started to calm down.
,,Mila, we don't know if it's him. Please breathe." Mary said.
,,It's his car. It's our car!" I said feeling my heart break at the thought of him being hurt in any way.
Suddenly my phone started ringing and just when I reached for it, Mary took it before I could.
,,Hello.... No, but I'm here with her..... I- Okay.... We'll be right there." Mary said and hung up. I saw the way her facial expression changed and I was so scared of what she will tell me.
,,Who was on the phone?" I asked even if I kinda knew who it was.
,,The hospital..." Mary said and then I just froze.
The last hope that he wasn't one of the drivers suddenly disappeared because that call meant he was.
,,Please tell me he isn't...." I said with tears falling down my cheeks.
,,No, he's not d-dead." Mary managed to say.
,,Who is dead? What is going on?" Riley asked confused and when I looked at her I saw the same fear and confusion in her eyes that I felt in the night of my parents' death.
,,Everything will be okay, princess, but we all need to go to the hospital now." Mary explained to Riley.
,,Why? Who died?" Riley asked.
,,I'll explain on the way everything, but we really need to go." Mary said and stood up from the floor with Riley. ,,Put your shoes on and then wait at the door." Mary said and Riley did just like she was told. ,,Camila, come on. We need to go." Mary said to me and pulled me on my feet.
,,If something bad happened to him then I-"
,,Mila, stop it. No one takes Shawn away from you. If there is a God out there, then he won't let that happen to you. You lost more than anyone could imagine, but you won't lose Shawn. Now we need to go and be there for him. Got it?" Mary said and somehow her words motivated me and made me go out that door.
We took a cab to the hospital and the ride felt like an eternity.
,,Drive faster!" I said to the driver and somehow this moment reminded me of the moment I found out Nina and Riley got in a car accident and were in the hospital. I yelled at the driver in that day the same way I yelled now just that at the moment I also had a lot of hormones in my body that did the whole situation even worse.
,,I can't! There has been an accident!" The driver said.
,,Oh really!? 'I didn't know that!' Now drive faster or you are gonna have to deal with a really pregnant woman." I said angrily and Mary pulled me closer to her and tried to calm me down.
,,Mommy, everything will be okay. Daddy is a warrior." Riley said and hugged me tight.
I didn't pay attention when Mary told Riley what was happening, but it was good she knew because the eight year old me would have wished to know what happened back then too.
