Camila POV
Camilla, Shawn's cousin, talked to one of Aaliyah's friends and told her to bring Aaliyah to a cafe near their college so we all could surprise her there. And that's also what happened. One of Liyah's friends brought her there and Aaliyah became speechless as she saw us all there.
,,No fucking way!" She said excited and ran to us to give us a big family hug. ,,Riley!" She said excited and started tickling Riley.
,,You are more excited to see Riley then to see us all." Shawn said and chuckled.
,,Of course! She's now my favorite family member!" Aaliyah said and we all laughed lightly.
Riley was giggling and bubbling to Aaliyah. She seemed just as excited as Aaliyah.
,,Happy birthday, honey!" Karen said and pulled her daughter for another hug.
,,You know that a call or a text would've done it too." Aaliyah said.
,,It's not the same. You were in New York for my birthday so now we are here for yours." Shawn said and kissed Aaliyah's cheek.
,,And you!? You came here from Toronto! Why?" Aaliyah asked Camilla.
,,Well... It wasn't just for your birthday...I got a job here." Camilla informed her.
,,Really!?" Karen asked shocked.
,,Yeah, but I won't be here for long. I will go back home for Christmas." Camilla said.
,,Now that we are talking about traveling.... I got the exchange year!" Aaliyah told everyone and we all started to cheer and give her hugs and kisses.
,,I'm so proud of you! When do you have to go?" Manuel asked her.
,,I had to choose if I wanted go now or end my semester here. I chose to end the semester here and go there when spring starts." Aaliyah said and sat down with us at the table.
,,And what country and city did you choose?" I asked.
,,I think I'll go to Paris. It's just...I don't know...I feel like I need to go there. I already know a little bit of French so I'll improve my French there. If I go to Italy I have to learn a complete new language or speak English the whole time and that would only make me feel like I am a tourist the whole time and I don't really want that." Aaliyah said excited.
,,You can eat Creme brûlée all the time!" Camilla said and Aaliyah chuckled.
,,I want Creme brûlée too..." I said to Shawn with puppy eyes and that made everyone else laugh.
We continued talking and laughing about random themes. We all gave Aaliyah the presents we bought her and she was really excited about all.
Shawn and I gave her some pearls and she loved them. I saw them once in a jewelry shop and I don't know why, but I thought about Aaliyah when I saw them. As Shawn and I passed that shop a few days later, I showed them to him and he liked them too, so we bought them.
,,I'm gonna be so elegant when I'm going to walk through the Paris streets with these pearls." Aaliyah said and laughed lightly.
,,You are gonna need a beret and you'll look like one of them." I said and everyone laughed.
Time passed and we didn't realize how long we have been in that cafe until we saw that the sun was setting down.
,,How long are you gonna stay here?" Aaliyah asked.
