“The informality of family life is a blessed condition that allows us all to become our best while looking our worst.”

,,Riley, come on! We need to go!" Shawn shouted while he took the last bags and brought them to the car.
,,I can't find my crown!" Riley shouted from upstairs.
,,I got it." I said to Shawn and kissed his cheek before I walked upstairs with Nate in my arms.
,,Mommy, could you help me find it?" Riley asked me the moment I got in her room with Nate. It only took me a second to look around and I already found the crown on her bed.
,,Found it." I said and took it my hand.
,,But... It wasn't there! How do you always do that!?" She asked confused.
,,I guess it's a mom thing. My mom always used to find the stuff I couldn't in a matter of a second. Call me super mommy from now on." I said and she laughed lightly as I put the crown on her head. Now come on. Daddy is waiting." I said and then we walked together downstairs.
,,Did you find your crown, princess?" Shawn asked as she started putting her shoes on.
,,Mommy found it. Like always." Riley said and Shawn chuckled lightly. I tried to put my shoes on while I was still holding Nate, but Shawn saw me and took him away so I didn't have to struggle with putting my shoes on.
,,Do we have everything?" I asked.
,,I think so and even if not, it's just a week." He said.
We were going on our little vacation with Manny, Karen, Liyah and Zack. It was the first time we were going somewhere without beaches and ocean in summer, but I was still excited about this vacation because we were going with our family.
,,Ready?" Shawn asked and Riley and I nodded excited. ,,Where is Tarzan?" Shawn asked confused.
,,Oh shit! He is still in the backyard. I'll get him!" I said and ran away while I heard Shawn laughing softly at me. ,,Come here, Tarzan!" I shouted as I walked through the balcony door into the backyard.
Tarzan immediately ran in my direction and I pet him before I put on his leash. He licked my face as I put it on and that made me laugh. He probably thought we were going for a walk, but we were just going on a 5 hours trip. Well we were theoretically going somewhere even better then a walk.
,,Come on, my boy." I said and kissed the top of his head before I walked with him back to Shawn, Riley and Nathan.
We all made our way out of the house and while Shawn went with Riley and Nate to the car, I locked the front door. I followed them afterwards and helped Shawn put Nate in his baby car seat. Then we also had to secure Tarzan. We bought a harness seat belt for Tarzan and we also tested it with him a few times. Tarzan was well-behaved and every time we tested it with him, he was just sitting peacefully in his place.
This was the second time I was in a car since Shawn's accident and to be honest, I was still pretty anxious about it. Shawn reminded me about a hundred times during the past weeks that everything is going to be okay and that nothing will happen and I knew that, but I was just scared.
I mean, can you blame me for that? My parents AND my sister died in a car accident! Shawn ALMOST died in a car accident! It's just too much for me, you know? I can't help but worry and that's why I just don't wanna drive anymore.
When Tarzan was settled in the middle back seat, Riley got in the car too and sat on the left seat while Nate was on the right one. Shawn got then in the driver seat and I got in the passenger seat.
