Here me out: the states have formal clothing (proper formal clothing), formal work clothing, and casual clothes.
Some just wear their usual casual stuff (California, New York *kinda he just doesn't care) but some will switch
So example:

I like to think Georgia for example showed up in his pajamas which he claims is his casual clothes, the regular outfit is the work formal stuff
