I feel like West Virginia has....a complicated relationship with Kentucky during the Civil War
He never wanted him to be taken by the confederation, but got mad that he remained a slave state. West had a hard time believing Kentucky didn't like slavery, but his people wouldn't listen.
And honestly when I'm reading about West Virginia it sounds like he just thinks Kentucky's week because his people stood up with him, why can't Kentucky stand up to his people
Also he might be lowkey mad that Kentucky's with a slave state, mocking him all the time telling him to 'pick a side'. Not to villain him of course, this was war and war does thing to people, but I'm willingly to be anything he was one of the people who wanted to question the twins to make sure they weren't taught anything wrong by their parents
