Honestly the Virginia family was pretty much broken after the war
Kentucky had a distrust of West Virginia and Virginia after, and the other states as well. He basically became a loner, he had his family and that suited him just fine.
He only began trusting states again when DC started dating the main five and even then
Virginia just wants to fix things. He knows he can never take back what he did or said but he wants his family back. Sometimes he'll see Kentucky outside fixing cars or West Virginia doing something alone and want to go talk to them....but won't
West Virginia hates both Kentucky and Virginia.
Kentucky he thinks of as a coward who couldn't stand up to his people, Virginia is a traitor who valued "his state rights" (COUGH) more then anything. He can't believe he's related to both of them at least he can pretend he's not related to Kentucky.
