No One's POV

"You guys are so lucky. You get to be in the same class and the same dormitory." Suzu suddenly thinks out loud, surprising the two in question. She was leaning her chin on the desk.

"Yeah! That's what I always think too!" Aruru hugs the redhaired in joy, nuzzling her cheek into the other's hair. Misora gave little to no protest.

"That's what I thought you'd say." Misora mumbles under her breath, her tail slightly swaying from the sentiment. It always makes her glad when Aruru makes statements like that and she knows that Aruru always means it. That's why it's all the more impactful and meaningful for her.

"Do you want to be with Mahiru-chan all the time, Suzu-chan?"

"Of course! That's a given..." Suzu now kinda embarrassed at saying that with such a loud voice resorted to scratching her cheek.

"There's also some downsides about it Suzu-san." Misora scoots closer to Suzu and whispers it to her ear. Misora gets back to her place beside Aruru and smiles back at the bigger dog than she is.

Suzu returns a questioning gaze at Misora.

"It's what it is Suzu-san. Isn't that right Aruru?" Misora takes Aruru's hand in hers.

"I don't know what you're talking about but yeah!" With an enthusiastic nod, Aruru squeezes on the hold.

"We'll be taking our leave Suzu-san!" Misora giggles to herself when seeing the way Suzu's tail slowly fell to the ground.

"Have fun!"

'I get to be with her so much that I don't have time to find a present by myself. I'm not complaining. I also love to be around Aruru as much as she does. The problem is..."

"Misora?"

"Uhh- Y-yea? What is it Aruru?" She gets her thoughts in order and looks at Aruru with droopy ears.

"Is something the matter?" Aruru frowns and that made alarm bells ring in Misora's head. It's an absolute no-no to get Aruru sad or she's going to be depressed.

"No! It's nothing like that, Aruru. Don't worry." Misora awkwardly laughs and resorts to pulling Aruru closer with a tug. Then an idea popped into her head and just went with it without thinking too much like she does as usual. "What do you want the most right now?"

"Misora's kisses? I rarely get some from you." She answered without waiting for a beat and that caught Misora off guard, making her a blushing mess.

"A-Aruru-san?" Misora struggles to make another word leave her mouth as Aruru put more thought into it.

"Hmmm... I think that's not it." Aruru racks her brain for the answer while Misora struggles to put back her brain in proper working order. "Something's not right about that..."

When Misora finally catches herself with a deep breath, it was a mistake for her to look at Aruru at that time who showed her biggest smile. Her breath hitched.

"Just Misora is fine." Aruru says in such a carefree tone and giggles. In an attempt to cover her embarrassment, Misora covers her mouth with a hand. She was super thrilled to hear that, if it was not enough to see her tail swing around so much.

"Thanks Aruru. I feel the same way too." Misora returns the same smile as she strokes Aruru's head, liking the way Aruru leans into the touch. "Let's go home."

"Hm!" Aruru hums, linking an arm with Misora's.

Misora screams into her pillow after falling onto her bed.

"That still doesn't give me a clue on what to give her!!" She tells herself, fisting the comfy bed in frustration.

Lifting her face from the pillow, she grits her teeth in retaliation of the thoughts running in her mind.

"I'll just get her something simple, like those crackers she chews on... But I always get her that when she wants it. What else?" Misora had sat on her study desk and her eyes wandered onto the shelf of her room. She smiles when she sees the familiar picture they took when they were kids. They were in a sandbox, their smiling faces smeared with a little bit of sand. "Whatever it is, I'll just follow Aruru's request per usual. Wait, that just sounds wrong. I'll think of something sooner or later."

'I just need to see her smile.'

Aruru brings Misora to her room in tiptoes. It was already late at night and Misora was sound asleep until she was woken up by her blonde. Misora more or less makes a conclusion as to why Aruru was doing this. It was the night before her blonde's birthday.

But Misora couldn't even make a word, because as soon as she felt the familiar comfy feeling of the bed, she was knocked out. More so by the tiredness of the sport they played during the day. She used too much energy that made her into this tired husk of a dog which is usually full of energy.

Aruru on the other hand was still wide awake. Not sure of what to do, she resigns to laying down beside Misora. Feeling frustrated on her own, she grumpily growls at the sleeping face of Misora. Pinching Misora's cheeks, Aruru slides into the arms of Misora, inching closer to the already asleep redheaded dog. Now comfortable, Aruru smiles into sleep, inhaling the calming scent of her partner.

In the next morning, Misora finds herself blinking her eyes several times to make sure she was not just imagining this situation. She had her arms hovered behind Aruru as the latter scooted even closer. Misora holds her breath.

She asks herself why she is still even embarrassed at these things when it should be normal for them already.

'Okay.' She thinks to herself as she released her breath. She resolves into hugging her back when she feels Aruru's hands on her back. 'This is actually good to start the day.'

Aruru shifts in her sleep and releases Misora from her hold but Misora doesn't keep her hands off of Aruru when she just put her hands on her. Aruru fluttered her eyes open and sees Misora's face first thing in the morning. More than anything, that just made her happy ten times over and Misora's heart goes into an overdrive.

Proceeding with what she decided the day prior, Misora leans in to kiss Aruru on the lips. A chaste one. Misora's still not bold enough to go and try for a deep kiss.

Unfornately for Misora, she didn't get to see how Aruru's cheeks slowly turn pink since she pulled Aruru for an embrace. Misora whispers into the blonde's ears, "Happy birthday, Aruru. I'm sorry I couldn't think of anything else since you said you wanted a kiss."

"I-it's fine..." Aruru buries her face into the crook of Misora's neck which is a very rare occurence. Misora happily sighs, gently stroking Aruru's head. "I really appreciate it. Thank you."

"Anytime." Misora kisses her head as she finally feels the embarrassment reel over herself. Still can't believe she initiated the things Aruru usually does.

It'll definitely take more time for the both of them to get used to this.
