Yuyuko's POV

I'm worried about this friend of mine. She's my childhood friend. Her name's Rui. She's really head over heels to our senpai, Tamao-senpai.

I do understand her view. Tamao-senpai's really hardworking and cute at the same time. But she doesn't have to tell me about it every single time.

Well, I don't mind her coming to talk to me. In fact, I just love it when she comes over. And speaking of the devil, I hear her footsteps echoing louder as she comes closer to my room.

"Yuyuko!" She called my name as she opened the door loudly.

"What is it this time?" I asked with an uninterested look on my face as I was just hugging my pillow on my bed.

"She appeared in my dream!" She answered as she closed the door behind her and took a seat on the cushion on my floor.

Figured.

"I mean, how could she not? She's always in your mind. Yeah, so what happened?" I continued to indulge in her fangirling and shrugged my shoulders.

"She was in my arms. I could almost melt." She said as she put her hand to her cheek, blushing and was grinning from ear to ear. "She was also so small when she hugged me back. It was like a dream come true!"

"I mean it was a dream. You haven't even asked her out yet." I replied back as I gave a sigh and buried my face into the plushie I was hugging.

"A-a-ask her out!? I wouldn't even dare do that! I can't! It's impossible for me!" She retorted back, her face flaming red and her eyes were in disarray to where to look.

"Then, it will always be just fantasies if your attitude is always like this. Just tell her and get it over with." I sat up and looked into her eyes as I said it.

Why are my words resonating with me? No, actually don't think about it.

"I can't ever do that." She drooped down, her spirits also decreasing than when she came in earlier. "Don't you notice the way Tamao-senpai gazes at Fumi-senpai?"

"I'm surprised you noticed that. I thought you only had eyes for Tamao-senpai." I playfully said and covered my mouth, covering my grin.

"W-what do you think of me!? I'm not that distorted of my surroundings not to notice." She retorted back as she slammed her fist onto my small table.

"H-hey, don't break my table. Also, I was only teasing." I hovered my hands near her and cold sweat running down my temple.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that..." She apologetically said, withdrawing her fist to her lap.

"So, you really won't ask her anytime soon?" I went back to our previous topic as I, myself was curious of the matter.

"Probably... Seeing her happy will also be my own happiness." She answered, clenching her teeth.

"If so, I will ask her and tell her." I said out of nowhere. I didn't even know why I said that.

"What? Her? Who? Tamao-senpai?" She panicked, not knowing where to put her hands as they were trembling.

"What? No! Not Tamao-senpai but," I pursed my lips, stopping my sentence.

"But?" She leaned in.

"N-nevermind." I looked away from prying eyes.

"You're making me more curious if you don't say it. You rarely even talk about yourself. So when you talk, I'll be all ears. No worries." She puffed out, feeling proud at herself which made me giggle.

"Then," I started as I leaned closer to her, forcing her to back away and her back met the wall. "I'll tell you."

"Y-yuyuko... You're too close..." She mumbled but I ignored it.

"It's you." I smiled as it finally got off my chest.

"Y-yeah, so what is it that you want to ask me?" She stuttered, her question made me to blush so hard and also made me deadpan.

I forgot she was this dense... My bad...

"What's wrong?"

"If you won't offer yourself to Tamao-senpai, then I'd gladly take you." I finally implied.

"Take me?" She tilted her head to the side.

This girl...

"I like you, Rui." Sighing, I said it bluntly.

How did I even like this girl? I often question myself this when I'm met with this slow Rui.

"Whaaat!? Since when?" She asked, flustered.

Yup, it's this one. This expression.

"Since way back, you didn't even notice it." I grinned.

"How could I, when your face always seems so uninterested!" She retorted back. "I didn't know you can say such cheesy lines too."

"Right, so what do you say?" I returned back to the topic at hand, full serious mode on.

"Ummm... actually... I don't know..." She replied as she was fidgeting which made me disappointed. "I'll tell you when I get this sorted out."

"I get it." I disappointingly said as I pulled myself off Rui and sat on one of the cushions. "I'll give you a chance to sort out your feelings. While doing so, why don't you just muster up the courage and just tell her?" I gave her a relaxed smile.

"I-I'll try but, most probably not doing that anytime soon..." She grumbled.

"Don't worry about answering me quickly. I have all the time in the world, I can wait." I said with a loving smile as I rubbed her back.

"Thank you, Yuyuko." She returned me back an award winning smile which made it hard to suppress the incoming blush.

"Just an assurance, let's act the same as always." I said to her as I tried to cover up the blush that appeared.

"Sure!" She agreed wholeheartedly, still treasuring our friendship.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you. I was also talking about myself. I'm worried about myself. But all's well that ends well. I'll be looking forward to a positive, Rui.
