What was that for!? (MayaKuro)

Maya's POV

As always I was practicing in the danceroom, practicing our routine that we just learned today. All of my classmates left the room for the class is dismissed except for her of course. She always stays behind and does the same routine I am doing.

"I'm in your care once again." She politely said which was unusual and cute in a way as she bowed a little.

"Yeah, sure." I said with little to no interest as I continued to mind my own business.

"I'm not giving you the top stop without a fight Tendou Maya!" She declared as she pointed at me which didn't startle me at this point.

She has always been my top rival and the one who always let's me pass my limits. She is also my motivation and especially, my princess, which I won't confess anytime soon. As there is an upcoming stage play arriving right before our eyes.

"Tendou Maya!" She shouted to get me put of a trance as I was startled and looked at her, instinctively.

"W-what is it, Ma Claudine?" I asked as I didn't know what I was doing.

"What was I doing?" I asked once again as she was surprised of me stuttering and embarrassed at the same time.

"Y-you were just standing over there looking at nothing in particular..." She finally answered but in a low volume as she slowly looked away from me, maybe from being embarrassed of looking something she shouldn't have.

"Claudine?" I called out as I grew curious of her strange behavior. She was strange since the start of this whole thing. But she's getting stranger the longer I interact with her.

Is it just me?

Or it's her this time?

Does she have something to say to me?

My heart won't be prepared for that, yet.

I shouldn't get to assumptions, should I?

"Saijou-san!?" I called out to her much louder this time which made her stand erect and was in 'attention' position as I almost let out a laugh at what she just did. Instead, I tried to stifle my laughter as it is out of my character to laugh at something so silly but I can smile at least.

"Yes, Tendou Maya!" She even loudly replied as if saluting off to a higher up in the military.

"W-what are you doing?" I asked as I failed to keep in the laughter any longer and finally burst out of laughter which made her confused for a while.

Then, in response to my sudden burst of laughter, she looked at herself in the mirror and she got the idea of why I was laughing in the first place.

"That's so embarrassing..." She said as she shyly covered her face as she also seemed to want to hide in a corner.

"How dare you laugh at The Saijou Claudine!?" She exclaimed as she let her overconfident self take over herself to hide her embarrassment.

"I-I j-just c-can't s-stop l-laughing hahaha" I managed to say in between the laughs as I started to calm down and become serious once again.

"Good" She said as if she was the one in charge. "Let's continue where we left off." She continued as she started the routine in her own.

Of course, I followed her lead and also minded my own business to practice. Her being here right now really is comforting somehow, it's just enough for me to be just like this for now, I guess...

We went on practice mode for a long hour and we finally started packing up to leave. I was already done packing and I was already on my way out of the room, but something really unexpected happened somehow.

"Tendou-san!" She shouted my name which just brought music to my ears as she held my wrist and pulled me down to match her height and kissed me on the lips.

"T-thanks for today..." She lowly said which I happened to catch as she pushed me away and ran to get her bag.

In the sudden event that I've always wanted to have, courage suddenly got out of me. I'll confess to her today. She even kissed me on the lips.

Why on the lips?

Should I get my hopes up?

Ugh, don't bother.

Let's just get this unstable feeling out of my chest and just get it over with.

"Claudine" I calmly said as she stood in place in shock, her back facing me.

"Can I call you that?" I asked as she walked away and nodded as her answer.

"Then, Claudine, can you be my girlfriend?" I asked once more which made her froze on place and was silent for a short while.

"What was that!?" She exclaimed, almost shouting as she regained consciousness? I don't know.

"I love you, so can you be my girlfriend?" There I finally said it as I closed my eyes not expecting something.

I closed my eyes so I didn't get to see her reaction. All I heard were just loud leaps and the word 'yes'. Then, I felt a sudden warmth covering me like a blanket. I realized it was a hug so I hugged back and opened my eyes to see her face up close to my face, our noses almost touching.

"Is this a yes?" I asked to confirm as I tightened the hug.

"Of course it is." She happily said as she gave me another peck on the lips which I returned a hundred times more and it even got heated up for a while.

"Should we go out on a date on our next day off?" I suggested as we walked out of the room, out of the school.

"Absolutely" She agreed almost immediately as she swing our hands in the air, on the road to home.

"So can you give me a break to the whole rival thing?" I asked as it has bothered me for a while now but didn't really mind it as it was a good motivation.

"No, I can't cut you some slack even if you're my girlfriend now." She teasingly said but I know she really meant it.

"Of course you can't right" I said to myself as I looked on ahead to find the dorm just right before us.

"Let's head in now." I said to her as she happily dashed to her room and me just walking off to mine holding in my excitement and happiness.

I don't know what ship I should write next, can you suggest ships in the comments?

Maybe some random idea might just pass to my head when I get the images in my head for that certain ship.
