No One's POV

"You seem more expressive as of late, Kocho-san." The great fox rested her cheek with an arm on her table.

"Does it really seem that way, Tendou-san?" Shizuha let out a giggle at receiving such a statement from the great fox, Tendou Maya.

Another fox in the room noticed the rare combination of people of their class, it made her make that usual teasing grin and lightly stepped towards the toward with her fan over half of her face.

"What is this I'm seeing? Is this some sort of love talk, Tendou-han? Kocho-han?"

The mentioned two let out a giggle at what this sly fox was trying to say.

"That isn't it, Hanayagi-san." Maya started. "Kocho-san here, seems a lot brighter lately. Do you happen to know the reason behind it?"

"I know so, Tendou-han." Kaoruko settled herself across the two and closed her fan. "It appears the reason has come herself."

Shizuha quickly looked to where the door was to see pink hair poking out of the side of the door frame.

"Ho... I see, so that was it after all." Maya mumbled to herself, but Kaoruko kept her ears open to hear what Maya said.

"You really did have an idea, Tendou-han." Kaoruko lightly tapped on Maya's hand with an unsurprised glint in her eyes.

Shizuha had already left the table and went to where the pink haired was. The mouse was surprised at the sudden appearance of the fox. She was calmed down by the fox's hands on her shoulder.

"You should have told me beforehand if you were coming over." Shizuha breathed out, but she isn't denying that she is happy to see her partner, if you pay attention to the way her tail moved.

"I just wanted to see you." She smiled at seeing that expectant look from the fox. "I was about to go back to my classroom. I'll see you later, Shizuha."

Shizuha kept her hold on the mouse, not planning on letting go anytime soon.

"Shizuha?" The mouse tilted her head to the side in confusion. She's not surprised that the fox isn't putting too much force on the hold since she's kind that way.

"That was too cute, Lalafin..." Shizuha's cheeks flared pink seeing that expression from the mouse.

"But I always do this though?"

"That's exactly why it's really fatal."

"Are you hurt in any way?"

"That's not what I meant. Just stay still for a moment." Shizuha was really glad that Lalafin was not hurting anymore because of her. She pulls Lalafin in for a comforting hug. Extremely happy when Lalafin snuggled closer to herself.

"See you later~" Shizuha waved as she saw the mouse disappear off the hallway.

"She should've brought Hisame with her." One of the harder to read foxes suddenly appeared in the sight of Shizuha, it startled her.

"It was just you, Yanagi-san." Shizuha put a hand over her chest and took a sigh of relief.

"Did Hisame pass by?" Koharu looked side to side from the door frame to the hallway.

"I didn't see her." Shizuha answered right away and the way Koharu's whole being drooped kind of made Shizuha think it was endearing to see that of Koharu.

"She'll probably drop by sooner or later, Yanagi-san." Shizuha assured. "For now, let's go back to our seats. The teacher will arrive very soon."

The rest of the foxes had already seated themselves and the only ones not were Shizuha and Koharu. The both of them quickly took their seats and the teacher arrived.





"Say Shizuha..." Lalafin called, looking up from the side of the called girl.

"Hm?" Shizuha squeezed the hand she was holding as an affirmation that she was listening. Because if she looked to see Lalafin looking up at her, that would make her heart clench from the cuteness.

"What do you want for your birthday?" Shizuha froze.

"You remember?" Shizuha finally turned to look at the mouse.

"Of course. Those days were the best since I could fully stuff myself with the food I liked." Lalafin giggled to herself remembering the amazing food on the table that it seemed like it was a buffet for young Lalafin.

"I guess that's true." Shizuha also remembered the same memory and giggled. "What I want... hmm..."

"You're oddly really thinking about it. That's kind of nice..." Lalafin looked at the fox fondly, she missed seeing this Shizuha.

"I can't make any other wishes but that." She nodded to herself, though the time she spent thinking wasn't any help to her. "Let's just go on a date that day."

"D-date?" Lalafin became flustered, covering her face.

"Don't worry about it. I'll take care of the plan and you." Shizuha leaned down to meet Lalafin's eye level. She showed Lalafin her dependable smile as she petted the shorter girl's head.

"...I'll be in your care." Despite how embarrassed she was to hear those words from Shizuha without even getting to stutter, but she was nonetheless happy to hear that.

"Leave it to me!"

I think I'm falling into the shizulala faction rather than shizutsukasa.

This animal au of mine is going to continue as a theme for the bday fics until kaoruko's bday.
