Mei Fan's POV
I've been sick for almost a week now. I think it's about time for me to go to the doctor. I don't even know what kind of sickness I have.
I suddenly cough, I feel my temperature rise too, and there's this tight feeling in my chest.
To be able to find out what this sickness is and how I got it is my goal for today.
I'm being accompanied by a friend because she is too worried to let me go alone. This friend of mine is a pink haired and really serious at times, her name is Yachiyo. We go way back and we managed to stick together for all these years.
"I'm fine really. Stop worrying." I tried to assure her but, she just won't budge.
"No no no. Let me at least take you all the way to the doctor." She insisted.
"Fine." I submitted to defeat and sighed. She gave me a smile in response. "We're almost there anyways."
"Do you at least have an idea how this happened?" She opened up a topic for small talk.
"No, I have no idea." I slouched at my answer.
"I see, what could it be?" She asked herself. It was not necessary for me to reply so I kept my eyes ahead and coughed every so often, good thing I was wearing a mask.
"You're a lost cause." The silver haired doctor said after hearing the things I experienced. She put down the paper she was holding and set it aside.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked in shock. It was a good thing I managed to let Yachiyo stay outside. She would probably flip out at hearing this.
"I can't help you in that department. I'm a doctor not a love adviser." She grumbled.
"What? I don't get it. Love adviser? Why would I need that?" I was confused which made me take out a lot of questions.
"Let me tell you in simpler terms. You..." I gulped. She put her chin over her fingers and her elbows on the desks. "You are love sick. Period."
"What!?" I stood up in surprise. "I mean, me? In love? No way." I scoffed.
"Just to make sure, who comes to your mind right now?" The doctor asked.
I closed my eyes and came to imagine who it might be. In my surprise, it was the one person who stayed by my side all these years. Yachiyo...
"Guessing from your reaction, there IS someone." She smirked. "Wait, why am I still entertaining you. You can go now. I still have patients to look after."
"S-sure. Thanks doc." I shyly took my way out and when I saw the person that came to mind earlier, I felt my face burn. I made my pace go quicker and tried to walk ahead of her. I even wanted to go home right away and close my door on her before she gets the chance to stop me.
"Mei Fan! Mei Fan!" She kept on calling after me. In my demise, she caught up with me and took a hold of my wrist.
I completely forgot that she tops me in the athletics department. I guess this might be fine. I clenched my other hand into a fist.
"What's wrong with you? Why did you run away? No, actually, answer this first. What was diagnosed to you?" She asked in curiousness and worry clear in her tone.
"I was not diagnosed with anything." I answered, my back facing her. I didn't want to let her see the face I was making now.
"You are supposed to be sick, how did you manage to run?" She continued to ask with concern.
"No reason." I quickly answered. Since. I can't run away from her, I just pulled her with me. "I'm going home now, won't you let go?"
"Oh, sorry. If you're going home too, then I am. I have nothing else to do." She pulled away her hand and I somehow missed the warmth in her hand.
Is this really how being in live means? How can I ever tell her? This isn't going to happen. Does she even feel the same? She always acts like this around me. If that's the case, there's also a chance that she has always loved me all the previous years...
"No, I have something for you. I'll let you in my apartment today." I smiled and took her hand in mine.
"I-Is that fine?" That's rare, to see her stuttering. She doesn't stutter, so why is she now?
"Yes it is, I already said so. I'll even cook you a meal." I made an even bigger smile.
"No, I won't let you do that. I'll be the one to cook."
"Actually, I'm really fine now. I've already taken my medicine."
"When?"
"Not telling~"
"Tell me what really happened with your diagnosis."
"At home."
"Ugh, fine."
We finally got home. And she didn't let me at least take a step in to my kitchen. "It's supposed to be my kitchen...." I grumbled.
In disappointment, I took a seat on my couch and did my usual, reading fortune telling books. Fortune telling is my hobby, but they somehow avoid me when I tell fortunes.
"Dinner's done, come and eat up." She called in which I followed.
"So tell me, what are you diagnosed with?"
"Love sickness." I answered with no care and just focused on eating.
"Love sickness!?" She exclaimed as she stood from her seat.
"Yup."
"Who?"
"You."
"What?"
"Let's just finish eating." I smiled.
"U-uh, yeah, sure." She sat back down in a daze after taking a glance to see her reaction.
"Yachiyo." I called after a long silence as I took my seat on the couch and her wrapping up washing the dishes.
"Yes, Mei Fan?" She replied back as she walked towards me.
"Do you feel the same?" I asked and looked up to meet her in the eyes. In response, her face flushed and didn't know where to look.
"Just look at me." I took hold of both her hands and intertwined it. It seemed like she was boiling.
"Yes. I've been feeling this way since we met I think. But I've realized it when we started highschool. I didn't have the courage to break what we already hard." She confessed.
"That's okay. I've only just realized today." I smiled at her. "So on three, let's say it together..."
"One..."
"Two..."
"Three..."
"I love you."
-----------------------------------------------------------
That was Shun-chan!
So I'm now touching on the Siegfield girls. The doctor is Akira, a silver haired stoic woman. Mei Fan has purple hair and ties it in a side pony. Yachiyo has pink hair and is a bit of a gyaru.
This is Yachiyo and Mei Fan.
That's it for today.
I'll be off doing other things.
As always,
Thanks for dropping by!
