No One's POV

At the thought of the impatient grey fox, Michiru couldn't help but suppress her giggles in class. The teacher didn't even call her out on it for Michiru is a diligent mouse, much like the rest of the mouse class.

Each of them has their own characteristic but Michiru's is the one that is the hardest to discern. Though without all of that, Michiru would've been one of your common folk. For Akira, it is precisely because of this that she finds the mouse so interesting. Which is also probably why it is still difficult for the fox to handle the mouse. Akira does like a challenge after all.

"Yachiyo, I'll leave these with you. You just need to go over that once to make sure. I have to leave now. Thanks." Akira picked up her bag and left the classroom.

Her fellow foxes looked at each other then shrugged their shoulders with a curious ear open for answers. Only Yachiyo knew of the reason for Akira being like that. Thus it is hard for her suppress a grin.

'This time, for sure... My turn to turn the tables around.' Akira thought on her way to meet the blonde mouse. "I'll make sure to get /your/ heart racing."

With her toothy grin, Akira was once again filled with the resolve to overpower the mouse. Although it should've worked that way right from the start. Since a fox is a predator and a mouse is a prey. Brilliantly pulling the strings, Michiru made Akira move the way she expected. At least that's how it worked in Akira's mind.

Stumbling upon the stationary fox, Michiru stopped in her tracks with a box in her hands. She quietly wondered for a while what Akira could be thinking about. The answer immediately showed itself when Michiru saw that proud grin on the fox. She couldn't help but giggle at the fox being so endearing. It was easy to know what thoughts could be running through the fox's head. This is only for Michiru's case however.

"Akira. You are blocking the way." Michiru thought it was time for her to finish her work and head back to the classroom. She softly bumped the box to Akira's back just above the end of her tail with a little lift from her toes.

"Oh, Michiru-"

Akira abruptly turned around which caused the mouse her balance. Slightly distracted of Michiru's well cleaned ears, Akira caught the mouse and the box barely in time.

"I almost got you hurt. This was my fault. I apologize." Akira said her apologies with full intention while returning the box into Michiru's hands.

The mouse was tongue-tied but she still managed to receive it. She still can't discern why Akira still haven't let go of her collar nor why Akira put a hand over hers then made that genuine smile.

Short-circuiting, Michiru unconsciously reverted into her mouse form, letting go of the box once again. She won't say it, but she did it before her body would react or her cheeks would have been dilusted with pink already.

"Michiru? What are you-?" Akira dashingly caught the box again and decided to squat on the floor. She laid the box to her side as she let Michiru have proper footing on her hand.

Michiru was frolicking on her hand and it was too cute to watch that Akira laughed. This action had made Michiru move hastily on her hand even more that it was hilarious. Akira still had her manners, so she did her best to keep it to the minimum to not embarrass the girl more.

Not wanting to face Akira, Michiru decided to stay in mouse form and let the fox finish her chore for her. She can hide her emotions better this way is the number one reason. Since it was Akira's fault that she is in this state, Michiru thought it was fine to let Akira do it for her.

She sat on Akira's shoulder while the fox returned the box to Michiru's classroom. Not knowing of the effect she had on the mouse, Akira blindly followed the mouse's direction with her little paws. It doesn't show on her face but seeing Michiru like this was giving Akira a healing effect.

"Hey, Michiru. Isn't it about time you talk to me?" After quite some time, the two were now off campus. Akira was holding bit of their bags with Michiru warmly cozied on Akira's head.

"Don't tell me you've fallen asleep on there?" It hurts her to disturb the peace of the mosue, but she has to make sure of her state in the moment. She gently took the mouse off of her head and into her hands.

Before Akira could make eye contact with her, Akira was met with smoke then Michiru with her tongue out. After that, it was her back turned and a few steps ahead.

"Michiru, you have to carry your own bag." The fox ran after the girl with a bag reached out to her and a waving tail.

"It's Akira's punishment." Michiru only hastened her pace, still not planning to face the fox fully.

"What? Why?"

"Not telling."
