No One's POV

Maya has been scratching her head for the longest time. Which is pretty uncharacteristic for her. The reason is the living being that has been given by her parents before they left for another business trip.

"What do you think?" The creature had been transforming into a human and back into a hen for the past few minutes. With different poses each time she has transform into a human. Making Maya frown even more.

This is a mistake. There's no doubt about it. Why did her parents even leave her with a hen in the first place? Was there something she was supposed to be reminded of when she received the hen? That's what she had been thinking about for the past minutes since her parents had left.

It didn't help with what the hen was doing in front of her.

"Can you please stop? Please make up your mind. Human or hen, please." Maya begged, voice sounding dispirited as a sigh left her lips.

"What? You didn't like it? You're no fun." The creature stayed in human form as she jumped off the table Maya had set her on.

"Then can you answer some questions for me?" Maya perked up with the possibility of her questions to be answered.

"What do you want?" Bored, the creature falls down beside Maya and looks up at the ceiling.

"First your name. I don't know how I should address you." Maya turned to face the uninterested woman with a bit of a glint in her eyes.

"Claudine. Your parents named me that. Along with mine." She sounded a bit irritated but the young lady brushes it off.

"Okay, Claudine. Maya. Call me Maya." She held out a hand which was slapped away by the platinum blonde.

"I knew that. You didn't have to tell me. Don't you take a proper look at your surroundings?" Claudine sounded with a scowl when she said that, accompanied with a sharp look towards Maya.

"I do... But, this is the first time I've taken a proper look at you. I didn't know you could become human." Maya put her chin on her hand, contemplating about her thoughts. "Maybe that's what my parents wanted me to know about..."

"Yes, yes. You got it right, Miss Maya." Claudine said in a mocking tone, now turning to face the serious face of Maya.

"Then where did they get your parents?"

"How would know that?! I'm not parents! It doesn't help at all that your parents brought them along." Claudine said with a huff as she crossed her arms together.

"I see... Then I should learn about it in the library." Maya stood up from her chair and started heading for research. "Ah, Claudine. You can do as you please." Maya left without another word.

"Wha- Wait!" Claudine became flustered and somehow transformed back into a hen. She cursed at herself then.

--

Claudine was entertaining herself by stacking books on top of one another, until it collapsed.

"You're not supposed to play with books. Take and read them one by one." Maya scolded, her eyes still on the book she was holding with a hen on its cover.

"You've been here for hours already, Miss Maya!" Claudine lost herself there and slid the rest of the books on the table. Maya frowns.

"I told you already, you're feel free to do as you please. You can always not accompany me and freely explore the mansion." Maya muttered under her breath as she picked the last book up back on the table.
