No One's POV
On a normal day, Karen would've been back to her cabin by now. Her cabin was silent and had a carefree atmosphere around it, or it was just the bubbly personality of the auburn-haired girl.
It was still early in the morning, hearing that the chickens just gave out their first cry of the day. Karen was still back in the coop of her chickens. She sat on one of her toes, her arm resting on her left thigh, it seemed like she was frozen staring at something unusual in her chicken coop.
It was a goose. It was resting peacefully in the far back of the coop on the hay that was laid there.
Karen couldn't believe her eyes, she had lost her words. Usually, she would have thrown her hands in the air in celebration, but she didn't at the moment. Maybe the reason for not wanting to wake nor startle the beautiful creature. Though not as beautiful as a swan would be, but Karen decides that this was the most beautiful bird she had seen.
Still, it seemed like Karen had been starstruck. She made herself comfortable and finally sat on the ground. Her chickens occasionally brushed at her side or even took a bit of refuge on the girl's lap, while Karen absentmindedly brushed a hand at the chicken on her lap. She stayed there until the sun had fully risen itself.
"Karen-chan! I can't believe you left your house unlocked and stayed here! I assume you haven't had breakfast yet!" Another girl had rushed into the coop. She was fuming at Karen's clumsiness or rather, forgetfulness. "You could've gotten robbed if I hadn't come to visit you today!"
"Sorry, Mahiru-chan..." Karen turns her head to the person with an apologetic smile on her face. "There's a goose in my coop! A goose! I have no idea how it got it but-" Karen covers her mouth as she cautiously takes a glance at the sleeping goose, who was just about to wake up. Karen mentally slapped herself for being loud.
"A goose?" Mahiru cocks her head to the side, but she remembers her initial reason for calling and finding Karen. "Nevermind that! You need to have breakfast!"
Mahiru pulls on Karen by the arm, taking a moment to take a short peek at the goose which was blinking its eyes open. Brushing away the complaints that Karen was making, Mahiru continues on pulling Karen out of her chicken coop.
"Mahiru!" A tall girl with dark greenish hair excitedly waves at the arriving two. She was waiting for them by Karen's front door of the cabin.
"Sorry to make you wait, Suzu-chan. It took me a while to pull her out from her chickens." Mahiru pushes Karen into her own house while Suzu naturally puts an arm around Mahiru's waist.
"It wasn't that long. You arrived at just the right time. I finished cooking a while ago. Thanks to that, you can enjoy breakfast while it's still warm." Suzu shows Mahiru her usual signature smile and that made Mahiru to take big steps away from the taller girl.
"You should've brought along Banana as well if you were bringing Suzu-san..." Karen grumbles as she lets her chin meet the top of the table.
"Banana-chan is busy. She already got herself booked by Junna-chan. They were heading to the nearby village last time we talked." Mahiru calmly replies, still fighting the blush that was lingering on her cheeks as she took a seat across the grumbling girl.
"No fair! She should've given me a visit before they left!" "Now, now. Eat this and fill your stomach, Karen-san." Suzu places a plate before Karen. "It's been giving off sounds since I saw you out of the house."
At that Karen immediately moves her hands to feed her mouth. Mahiru giggles at the sight.
"What are you going to do about that goose, Karen-chan?" Mahiru asks before they leave Karen alone again, generally curious. Suzu leans back in, wanting to know what the two were talking about.
