No One's POV
"Nana-san..." The fox followed the dog, who was pacing around in her small workshop, with her eyes. "Isn't it too early for this?"
"I guess it is. But can you make it, Yachiyo-chan?" The dog finally resorted to just tapping on the floor with her feet and stopped pacing around.
"Of course, I can. I won't back down from this challenge. It looks interesting too. I'm looking forward to how it turns out." Yachiyo pulled the paper with Nana's drawing on it. She giggled to herself. Marks from redrawing and redrawing are obvious on how ragged the paper is. Yachiyo thought that Nana put a lot of thought into this draft.
"That's good to know." Nana finally relaxed herself and let out a breath. Calming down immediately after hearing that the fox would do it. "Thank you, Yachiyo-chan. I'll be checking up on you every once in a while. Good luck."
Nana left without lingering in the workshop longer than Yachiyo had anticipated.
"I do have enough time to make this. It'll be beautiful, Nana-san." Yachiyo said to get herself to work her best. No. A level better than best. The fox eagerly looked for the materials to be used and put those in display on her work table. She continued to work just until the backbone would be finished.
"Yachiyo?" Another dog came into her workplace, when the called girl looked up to see her face she smiled. "You're working. I'll just be waiting here for you then."
"Thanks. I appreciate that Mei Fan." Yachiyo put down a piece on the side as she walked to where the dog had positioned herself to prepare for a nap. Mei Fan giggled as Yachiyo ran a hand on her head.
"Nana!" A familiar tone reverberated at the called girl's ears, making it twitch. The dog came to a stop as the cat stops right before her.
"What's wrong, Junna-chan?" Nana smiled her usual, the one that would reach her eyes.
"Where have you been? I've been looking and asking around for you." Junna looked up at Nana with a worried look on her face. Nana only giggled at that, more than happy that Junna was missing her. Junna only tilted her head to the side in confusion as to why Nana was giggling to herself. Formulating ideas as to why, then it occurred to her. She blushed and averted her gaze to the side.
"Hmm..." Nana started playing it off with a hum. She pulled Junna into an embrace, now sporting a silly smile on her lips. She was feeling giddy. "I just had something to do. But I'm here now, isn't that fine?"
"..." There was a small pause before Junna let herself relax into the embrace and reciprocate the act. "I guess it is."
"Let's go home." Junna nodded and was satisfied with just holding the dog's hand.
The few weeks happened in a flash.
Just as Nana had promised, she'd come by Yachiyo's place every once in a while. Though that meant every once a week. Yachiyo wash thankful that Nana did as the dog could check over what she had done and change parts that needed some better work. On those days, Junna would come looking for Nana at a nearby park and Nana just can't stop grinning for the rest of the day just by remembering the adorable faces the cat had made before they got home to each of their dorms.
The day before Mahiru's birthday, Junna was waiting at her usual spot for the tall dog when a message arrived. The cat slightly waved her tail at seeing the name of the sender. Though seeing the message only made her feel down, she patted her skirt off of dust along with her sad feelings. With a sigh, she took her bag with her and started to walk out of school. She stumbled upon the spaced out mouse looking upwards, Mahiru. Junna smiled and sat beside the mouse to have a little small talk.
"What are you up to Tsuyuzaki-san?" Junna stumbles upon a spaced out Mahiru on the open hallway. Mahiru takes this approach for her to scoot to the side for the cat to sit beside her. Junna sits down at the gesture.
"I'm thinking of what Suzu-chan might be up to. My birthday's coming up and I'm sure she's making a big scene because of it." Mahiru giggles at the thought of a very flustered Suzu asking for anybody's help.
"That's true. She took Nana with her too." Remembering the text the said dog had sent her earlier, which made her let out a sigh. "I guess we both have dogs that need to worry about them."
The both of them laugh at the sentiment.
