Nana's POV
Eventhough I knew what they were planning in every loop, they still make me cry. I don't know how they do that but it seems like they're pulling the strings of my tear glands and my heart.
But most of all it was the never wavering smile on Junna-chan's face that makes me tear up with the cake in her hands. Then I was wrapped up in a warm hug after she put down the cake on the common table.
The first time around, I cried my heart out. It was the first time I had my birthday celebrated.
"Nana! I've been looking everywhere for you!" She called, gasping for air and hands on her knees. As soon as she catches her breath, she quickly stood up properly and adjusted her glasses.
"Is there a problem, Junna-chan?" I gave her a smile as our eyes met.
"No. I just need you to come with me." She slowly closed the distance between as and she grabbed my hand.
"What's this about Junna-chan?" I was happily being dragged away by my charismatic roommate.
"Just follow me." She stayed looking straight ahead while I was looking at her hand squeezing mine as if to silence me. Though the squeezing left me comfortable in it so I was completely fine with Junna-chan dragging me.
I wonder what's going on in her mind right now. It seems like they were planning something. I'll just play along and see what they're going to do.
Later we arrived to our dorms. Looking at the sky, it was still afternoon, it was a bit too early for us to return back to the . When we arrived right at the front door, Junna-chan took a deep breath and she squeezed my hand again before letting go of it.
She opened the door of the entrance for me. What waited for me, were Karen-chan and Futaba-chan with a party popper, Maya-chan and Kaoruko-chan blowing something I was not sure of the name, Mahiru-chan with the cake, it was the normal cake with white cream and some strawberries on top of it, and Kuro-chan ready with a present.
"Happy birthday, Nana." The girl beside me greeted. It was a lot to take in. I looked at the calendar in my phone after I took a picture of them and just realized it was then, that it sunk in. Then and there, tears ran across my cheeks. The girls were alarmed of my reaction that they were panicking. Junna-chan calmed them down with a hand signal after she pulled me into her arms.
She quietly whispered some soothing words into my ears. Then, "The present Saijou-san is holding is from me." At that, I was pretty sure a deep blush was on my face then. Thank Junna-chan, I had my face covered in her chest.
That moment was one of my most cherished scenes of the play.
The fifth time came, and there was one little detail that changed. It was that this time the cake became of a frog form than the white cake from the first time. Still it surprised me, but the tears from my eyes appeared on their own and the scene continued as it originally did.
That change, that little change probably meant something but I just brushed it away as the rest of the scenes were the same as always. Except for that change in detail.
The next time, I finally lost count of how many repeats I've done. But this little scene have such a big impact on me, it became my scene of peace. It comforted me, that I felt I belonged.
Another change happened and this time, the volume of the party preparation was in a much more exciting way. This time, everyone had a gift for me.
And then, Hikari-chan came and my loops came to a stop.
