Nana's POV
I'm here waiting for for Junna-chan in the lobby of the school to go home together. She had to stay for class president duties. Even though she said I can go on ahead, I insisted I waited for her. I did that because I know how lonely she becomes when she feels she's alone, just like me in the past but, mostly because I wanted to go home together with her, always.
Right now, I am sitting on a bench as I looked at the sky. The sun setting on the horizon and me, just there on a bench, swaying my feet front to back abd a smile on my face. Then, the skies started to darken and clouds covered the sky. Then rain started pouring and birds flying quickly to find shelter under the rain.
"It started to rain..." I said sadly as I stopped my movements and just sat there looking at the darkened sky.
"Junna-chan, what's taking you so long?" I asked to myself as I grew sadder by the sounds of the droplets hitting the ground was getting louder.
"Did she bring an umbrella?" At the mention of this, I quickly ran over my things in my bag, but no, there was no umbrella.
"Oh, I forgot to bring one. Junna-chan probably brought one, she's always prepared." I continued to talk to myself as I relaxed back on my seat.
Then, I heard the sound of footsteps getting louder and closer by the second.
Ah, that must be Junna-chan!
I happily thought as I waited excitedly for her to come. But the rain just didn't have any signs of stopping anytime soon.
"Nana!" She exclaimed as she stopped running in front of me, one hand on the wall to help her catch her breath.
"Junna-chan, welcome back!" I happily replied as I stood up and offered her water.
"Thanks." She managed to say before drinking over half of it.
"Junna-chan, did you bring an umbrella?" I asked which she choked on drinking water as a response.
"I suppose you didn't bring too, based on your reaction." I stated as I smiled widely.
"You also don't have one now!?" She immediately asked as she returned my water and a bit panicky.
"You even forgot to bring yours, of course I also don't have one." I teasingly said which resulted in a very cute pouty Junna-chan.
"I'm sorry okay, I spaced out in the morning and forgot to bring it." She talked back and was genuinely apologizing.
"What do you say? Wanna run under the rain?" I suggested as I offered her a hand and gave her a comforting smile.
"If you say so." She replied in a while as she held my hand and gave me a knowing smile.
"Onwards!" I excitedly said as I pulled her with me to the entrance of the school, last shade of the school before running under the rain.
Then, there goes the sound of thunder which made us think twice to run in the rain. Junna-chan tightened her gripped on my hand.
Was she always scared of the sound of thunder?
I thought as I also tightened my hold on her, reassuring her that everything will be fine.
"Let's go!" I proclaimed as I jumped onto the rain and my bag over my head to have a little shade of the rain.
"Will it be really fine?" She questioned as she thought twice before following me under the rain.
"Of course it would, I'm with you!" I reassuringly said as I pulled her out in the rain and she also brought her bag over her head.
"Nana" She said, finally assured she would be fine and followed my lead.
"Let's hurry, we might be soaked all over if we don't head home now." She knowingly said as I headed onwards first.
"Hey, wait for me!" She shouted as she tried to catch up to my running pace which brought laughter to my face.
She was always the slower one than me when we race together in random times.
I ran backwards, facing her as she still tried to catch up.
"Hurry up, Junna-chan!" I teasingly said as she tried running faster but it was just hilarious as she tripped and fell.
"Junna-chan!" I said worriedly as I hurried over to her and dropped my bag to the side.
"I'm okay, I just became soaking wet." She said, disappointed as she stood up and just didn't mind putting the bag over her head anymore.
"You won't mind getting wet in the rain anymore?" I asked to make sure as I also did the same thing.
"Yeah, there's no more use, I'm already soaked." She said as she started to walk again.
"At least there's only a few more blocks until we reach the dorm." She continued as she just walked in the rain and I followed by her side.
"I'm sorry." I sadly said as I felt a bit guilty of her tripping and lowered my head down.
"There's nothing for you to apologize for." She said as she held my hand.
"Really?" I asked to confirm, instead she just gave me a warm smile which also made me smile.
"Got it. We're almost there now." I announced as I swing our hands held together.
"I want to have a warm bath right now." She said as she stretched her free hand upwards.
"Yep, me too. Wanna bathe together?" I agreed then suggested as I also wanted a warm bath.
"Together!?" She exclaimed, embarrassed at the thought.
"It's fine right?" I asked, pouting. It has been a while since we last took one together.
"...It's fine if it's you..." She said lowly just enough for me to hear even under the loud rain as she looked to the other side and tightened her hand in mine.
"Look, it's the dorm!" I announced as she followed and look too. It made us do a last sprint to reach home.
We stopped at the entrance as we were dripping wet. We just stood there for a while to dry for a bit and for us not to make a mess when we walk to our room.
Then, we took our change of clothes and our towels and went to the bathroom to take a bath.
It was pretty amusing to take a bath together with Junna-chan again as she was embarrassed most of the time. She even insisted on washing her hair on her own but I still got to wash hers and she washed my hair in return.
In the end, it was an afternoon to remember.
Then the rain started to calm down as I looked over to the window on my comfy bed.
