Secrets and Promises (MisoAru)

Misora's POV

I have a secret. I haven't told anyone about it. But, I think there is someone who has a slight idea about it.

The one person who I need to tell about it is someone who I'm very much afraid of finding out about it. If she has to have heard it, it should be from me at least. Then, we can work our way around it.

It's cliche but yes, I... fell in love my childhood friend.

I don't know when exactly it all started but I noticed it. And that's all that matters.

Honestly, I have no idea what she thinks. But, I can understand her, more or less. We've been together all my life, but I still have no idea what goes through on her mind.

"-ra!"

"Misora!" I saw a hand passed over my face.

"W-what?" I took a step back in surprise.

"Are you not feeling well? You're not acting as usual. We're even practicing and you're mind is not on our session today."

"I'm fine. Completely fine." I replied back with a smile.

"I think you should take a rest." She said, worried, putting her hands over my shoulder and looked at me with those sparkling eyes.

I thought for a moment and took it as something good.

"I think I will take you up on that." I replied, scratching my cheek.

"You should probably need to accompany her Aruru-chan." Lalafin-senpai spoke up.

"That was the plan, senpai." She widely smiled.

"We'll wrap up here in a moment, so you two should start heading home now." Shizuha-senpai smiled.

"That's right. You've worked yourself enough for one day." Tsukasa-senpai also added.

"Got it. Then let us excuse ourselves." I replied to them formally.

"See you tomorrow." Aruru left while waving her hand. Well, at least she's the same as always. I made a small smile to myself.

"Hey, Aruru. Do you still remember the promise we made back then?" I fidgeted with my fingers, nervously.

She looked kind of distant for a moment when she showed me her back. I wonder why? She then turned around and greeted me with an award winning smile.

"Of course! I would never forget something so important!" I made a sigh of relief.

"Then what was this promise about?" I asked with a relaxed smile.

"We'll be together always!" She opened her arms wide as if asking for a hug. I would dream to drown in her embrace everytime she does that. I'm still holding myself back so I just returned a smile.

"I'm glad you remembered. It was my treasure..." I murmured to myself, careful not letting her hear.

"Are you feeling a bit better now? We've walked quite a distance now." She asked as she walked backwards.

I looked to the side and saw a food truck, it was a waffle stand. It's been awhile since I had one, maybe she does too. Might as well take this chance to talk with her.

"There's a food stall. I'm kinda hungry. So, let's take a bit of a break there." I pointed towards my right to prove a point.

"Sure! I'm also hungry myself! This time, it'll be my treat!" She announced proudly with a huge smile, like she's shining.

"Actually, I have something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time now. So, it's been overdue, I guess..." I took my seat while she took hers. I gulped at the sudden shift of the atmosphere as she took me on with her serious face, which she barely even uses.

"I'll listen to anything. I always have you listen to my wishes and you've been able to do all of them. I'm really really grateful for keeping by my side." She lowered her head. This was really new. She really is full of surprises. Well, that's why she's pretty good.

"I-It's nothing. I'm doing it by my own means and I also like it. So don't worry about that and please raise your head, that's kind of embarrassing..." I looked down and set aside my waffle as it was still a bit warm. I'd like to eat it warm, but that'll have to wait.

"Then, I want you to continue staying with me for the years to come, the same as always!" She perked her head up in excitement. That sounded like a confession, it got me excited for a second there. Thank God I kept my blushing from showing.

"Of course, I haven't thought of a day without you present. Although..." I made a pause while making embarrassed glances between her and the table. "I want us to get closer than we are now..." Ahhhhh! I managed to say it. I can't stop my cheeks from burning anymore.

"Aren't we close enough already?" She tilted her head in confusion.

"Well, yeah, we are. But I want us to be more than that." I continued to fidget with my fingers and taking occasional glances at her.

"More? Like?"

"Lovers..."

She was quiet for longer than usual so I lifted my head up to look at her. And yes, it was pretty unusual, she was thinking hard. I only looked at her in admiration while slowly taking bites from my waffle.

"I love you..." I accidentally spoke it loud enough for her to hear which made her to quickly moved her attention to me and was suddenly blushing. On reflex, I brought my hands over my mouth in shock.

"S-suddenly hearing that from you is kind of embarrassing." She rubbed her nape in embarrassment.

"S-sorry, that just came out." In response, I apologized and put down the waffle I was holding.

"No no, don't worry about that. I actually very much appreciate you feelings for me." She waved both her hands.

"Then," I pouted, which I rarely show to anyone which made her to blush harder in surprise. "what is it your trying to say?"

"If it's with you, then I'll gladly accept!" She said with a huge smile, trying to suppress her pink blush.

"I'm happy!"

"Actually, I never thought you felt the same all this time." She made an embarrassed smile.

"What?" Her statement made me open my eyes wide. "So you're saying we've been hiding the same fact from each other!?"

"Yes." She chuckled.

"What the heck?"

"I love you." She said with smile, putting her chin above her fingers.

"Idiot, I love you too..."

So this was my first fic with the frontier girls.

Yes, I really like these two. I like Misora more though. Oh one more thing, Misora is the redhead in the picture and Aruru is the blonde one if you don't play the game.

Also, sorry for being late. I had a lot going on at the moment and I didn't have connection to post it on time this time.
