No One's POV
If you can just have a day lazing around on your bed, what would you do?
Nothing.
That's exactly what these girls are doing. A blue cat taking her place in the warm stomach of the brunette who was lying down on the grass.
"Hikari-chan. Why are you in your cat form?" Karen said in a flat voice, just looking at the passing clouds in the blue sky.
The blue cat nudged her nose on the brunette's stomach and poking it with a force that almost made the dog sit up. She returned to her curl and closed her eyes, enjoying the white noise.
"That hurt Hikari-chan." Karen complained, but she can't just lie on her side and drop the cat on the grass. She can't take away the peace that the called girl is taking in.
With nothing to do and an empty mind, the calmness of the atmosphere, watching the clouds in the clear blue sky, it was only aiding in the heaviness of the dog's eyelids. Succumbing to it, Karen had started drifting off to sleep.
Hikari having sensed that the dog had finally fallen asleep according to the rhythmic pattern of her stomach rising, she steps down to the grass with her paws and paused to look at the now drooling face of the dog. She could've giggled but she only let herself have an idiotic smile on her face as she returned to her human form.
"You really doze off so fast. That never changed." Hikari mumbled to herself with an unwavering smile on her face. She brushed away the stray hair that covered Karen's face and it could've irritated her if it poked her eyes. "Also, you're really easy to please."
She cautiously checked the perimeters if there were any people around and let out a breath when there were no signs of anyone. Now that that was confirmed, she held off with only a peck on the cheek. When she raised her head, she saw a flash of yellow fluffy tail. Thanks to that, she missed the way Karen looked so at peace then.
Hikari put her hand on her chin with a serious expression on her face, pondering who could have just passed by. If it were Banana, it would be no problem. If it was Aruru, she couldn't have noticed. It wouldn't be Michiru either since it was a fluffy tail nor any of the blonde cats. No, wait. Claudine might be possible. Claudine who is cat doesn't have that slender look of her tail, in fact it looked fluffy enough to be touched. Then it occurred to Hikari that she will ask Claudine later to let her touch her tail.
Wait, that wasn't what she was supposed to be thinking about. Before she could get back to thinking who could've actually just passed, she was pulled into a hug by the sleeping Karen.
"Wai- Karen!?"
In a reflex, Hikari looked up to check on Karen. She only saw the dog chew something with her squinting eyes. Hikari had to stifle her giggle at the sleeping face of Karen. She was then pulled closer by Karen, the dog's chin on her head, her face now on Karen's chest. She isn't sure what to do at this situation, but she kept any unnecessary thoughts out of the way and kept a straight face while surrounding herself with the soothing smell of the dog.
Ah.
She might actually fall asleep at this rate.
She has to get out of Karen's hold. For that to happen, she has to return to her cat form and then wake Karen with a paw on her forehead. A smack would be too much even for Hikari.
But, she wants to indulge herself more.
These situations are rare to come by with them in different classes. She's sure their class president feels the same at times like these.
With that, Hikari has made up her mind. She let herself smile as she scoots closer into Karen's embrace.
Not long after she actually fell asleep, letting all her guard down. It didn't matter then because she was in the embrace of her most important person. She fell asleep with a satisfied smile on her face.
Karen later turned over so that her back meets the grass fully and her hand relaxed on the ground, that she only have a hand on Hikari's shoulder now.
"fufu~ Look at that."
"You really did find them."
It really was Nana who saw them earlier, but there is no way that Hikari could have made sure of that now that she's off in dreamland.
"Do you still have the heart to get them back in, Junna-chan?"
"If it doesn't rain, then no. Still, you're taking photos Nana. Aren't you taking a lot?" Junna averted her eyes to the excited dog in front of her rather than the dozing two on the grass.
"It would be a waste not to when they're this adorable." Nana looked back to the cat who seemed to have relaxed from when they just arrived here. Just as when Nana returns her gaze at the two, she sees Karen with a troubled look on her face and not a moment later, Hikari too had the same look. Nana laughed. "Doesn't it seem like they're having the same dream?"
"They sure do look like it." Junna had already went beside Nana, peering at Karen and Hikari, smiling.-----------------------------------------------------------
