No One's POV

"Hey~" Suzu with her flailing limbs on her seat, grumbled.

"What's wrong Suzu-chan? Your sounding to be less cheerful than how you usually are. Even though today's your birthday and everyone gave you their well wishes." Nana smoothly slid to the side of the grumbling girl. Reaching a hand over her head to pet with her hair, hoping to at least alleviate a part of the Suzu's foul mood. She made sure to pet near the ears, and for sure, Suzu did somewhat became a bit calm now. "Are you alright now?"

"A bit..." Suzu collected herself and sat properly on her seat. "...Thanks, Bananan."

"No problem." Nana said with a bright smile on her face. "So what's making you act this way?" She tilted her head to the side though her eyes seemed to have already known the reason.

"That's because-- ughhh" Suzu was suddenly met with a heavy hit to her back and a weight slowly claimed their place on her shoulders. Suzu already knew who it was before seeing the person, their scent is too distinctive. "Karen! You almost made me bite my tongue!"

"Sorry! Hehe~" Karen doesn't distance herself away from the clearly distressed Suzu. "This is my job for today after all~!" Karen continued to say while rubbing herself on Suzu's back.

"Wait, Karen-chan-!" Nana put a hand before her mouth to hide a small gasp. She slowly looked to the side to avoid getting a look of confusion from Suzu. She expertly looked back at the two with a not noticeable wavering smile.

"What do you mean job, Karen? I don't exactly mind though." Suzu had already gotten over the initial shock and didn't even think much of what Karen had just said.

"I always do this so it kinda became a habit." Karen smoothly slid the topic out of what Nana could have been thinking it was, but it isn't a lie too. Her pouncing on Suzu became a daily thing and Suzu just had to play along with her.

"That's true. Speaking of habits, I haven't seen Mahiru since this morning and that's making me feel down..." With Karen comfortably settling herself on Suzu's back, Suzu had leaned towards the table again with droopy ears.

"That was it after all." Nana had long calmed down and repeated what she did earlier with petting behind the ear of Suzu, she also did the same thing to Karen. Since they were both looking to be spoiled, Nana with her caring nature, went along with it.

"Bananan, you too. I haven't seen you snuggling to Hoshimi today." Nana flinched at that, making Suzu question what she just saw.

"T-that's... I'm trying to hold back for today!" Nana clasped her hands together with a big smile on her face, keeping a good face about that blunder. But she isn't exactly lying too, since Junna was the one who told her to hold back until the day ends.

"Hm...." Both Karen and Suzu looked at Nana with doubtful eyes.

"I'm telling the truth! Stop looking at me with those eyes!" Nana started to blush out of embarrassment and it made the other two dogs laugh at how Nana was acting in front of them. It wasn't like the usual Nana who was always by the sides and watching with full attention.

When the laughter subsided, Suzu stood up with Karen still hanging on her shoulders. She took Karen's arms, lifted her off of her and sat her down on her seat. Karen was in a daze when all of that happened and then she saw Suzu grin like she was planning something, then it came to her.

"Ah!"

"I'll go ahead, Karen!" With a wave of a hand, Nana and Karen was left in the dust until they realized how grave this matter is. Karen was a step ahead and immediately ran after the person who just dashed away.

"Wait Suzu-chaaaaaaaaaaan!" Karen tried her best to catch up to the bigger dog than she is, then she felt a strong breeze to her left and saw a flash of yellow fur which both shocked and gave her energy to catch up to them like in a competition.

Nana followed not long after and immediately ran as fast as she could. She wanted to receive a reward from Junna after all.

"Suzu-chan." In a threatening tone, Nana stopped in front of Suzu after transforming back into her humanoid form.

"Hiiiiiii!" Suzu screeched and almost met her face with the ground at the sudden feeling of bloodlust from the usually cheerful dog.

"You were so fast Banana! How'd you go that fast?" Karen finally caught up. Then the scene started to register to her and slowly came to a stop. "Why are you holding Suzu-chan on the ground?"

"We're playing police and robbers." Nana said with a huge smile on her face.

"Give! Give! I give up!" Suzu started to hit the floor in a desperate rhythm.

"Sorry, Suzu-chan!" Nana removed herself and her hold on Suzu. The green dog held both of her wrist and looked at it properly, her face clearly in pain.

"You're too strong and big Bananan. I can't outrun you nor win against you in a fight with strength." Suzu massaged her aching wrists as Karen got to her side in worry of the showing mark.

Nana only giggled at the comment. More proud of stopping the birthday girl from finding Mahiru than worried over hurting Suzu. Since she knows that Suzu heals pretty fast than normal, so that'll be gone in a few more minutes.

"How about we continue that police and robbers game? I want to play too!" Karen suddenly said after relief washed over her from seeing Suzu's assuring smile. "Let's get the others to join too! Just us dogs!"

"That's a great idea, Karen-chan! Let's do it!" Nana clasped her hands together and her face immediately lighted up at the good job Karen was doing.

"Ehhhh? We're doing this again? I don't want to be the robber then." Suzu patted herself off of dust as she stood up.

"Then it's decided!"

"This much should be fine."

"I don't think it is, Saijou-san. I think something is missing..."

"Are you sure we aren't thinking this too much, Junna-chan?"

"Just sit down, Mahiru. We got this."

"Are you really?"

"I got it! This one will do!"

"You're really a genius Junna! Good thinking!"

"Ah, that's-"

"I told you just sit still Mahiru."

Mahiru was being held down by the shoulder, on the left by Claudine and the right by Junna. With determined looks on their faces, they finally took a step back from Mahiru. Claudine and Junna looked at each other and nodded. They smiled looking at Mahiru.

"You look good enough to be the present." Claudine grinned with a proud hand on her hip.

"Normally I would disagree, but right now, that statement is true." Junna crossed her arms and nodded affirmatively.

"Kuro-chan, Junna-chan... Thank you..." Mahiru reached for the mirror and took a look at how she looked. She hovered a hand over her curled hair and the lace headband with a clover on it, her mouse ears instinctively twitched. Then she noticed how light the make up was put on her, she smiled to herself. Then finally the last piece they put on her, the necklace that was a gift for her birthday. She played with the necklace, the silver baseball bat, for a bit and finally got to get herself off of that chair. "I'll go find her then."

"It was no problem Mahiru." Claudine held out thumbs up and her fang almost glistening in her smile.

"Don't forget the actual present, Tsuyuzaki-san." Junna reminded as she walked beside Mahiru, leaving the other cat to go back on her own.

"You're going with me Junna-chan?" Mahiru looked surprised as she asked.

"Of course. You're going to their classroom, that means I have to retrieve my dog too." Junna explained with a fond expression on her face.

"That's true." Mahiru giggled. "You really care for her. Though I haven't seen you together today yet. Why is that?"

Junna flinched and blushed furiously. Seeing that reaction, Mahiru's lips form into a knowing grin. Junna only looked away as an answer.

"I see..." Mahiru mumbled loud enough for the cat to hear.

"W-what did you get from that?"

"Just something." Mahiru giggled again. Totally playing with Junna.

"Oh, we're here. Stay here for a bit, Tsuyuzaki-san. I'll call out Minase-san too." Junna still hasn't fully made the blush on her face disappear. The unfazed smile from Mahiru is not helping Junna subside the shade on her cheeks.

Mahiru stood waiting on that corner, by the side of the doorframe. Junna stood in front of that doorframe and called for the golden haired dog who immediately turned her head to her direction before Junna even called her name.

"She's quick as always. I didn't even pick up her scent." Suzu once again plopped her chin on her desk as her eyes followed Nana to the doorway. Karen stayed silent as she was waiting for another person.

Their play with police and robbers earlier was quickly finished. They played the game for about 4 rounds. Nana won all of them despite being given the role of the robber and that she was alone. The other dogs were all exhausted and covered in sweat after all the attempts to catch Nana. They already went ahead home to take a refreshing bath.

"You're kinda red, Junna-chan. A cold?" Nana reflexively put a hand over the called girls' forehead.

"I'm fine. I'll be fine. It's nothing." Junna took the hand from her forehead and brought it down.

"Really?"

"Yes, so please call Minase-san. Everything's ready now." Junna gestured to her side and Nana looked to that direction and found Mahiru. Nana immediately got the message and silently complimented Mahiru with a simple nod and a smile.

"Suzu-chan, come here for a bit." Nana called, accompanied with a simple raised hand with her palm towards Suzu and moved it up and down.

"Bananan? I'll be out, Karen." Suzu stood from her seat and tapped on Karens' back.

"Eh? Sure!" Karen was in a daze and just went back to resting her cheek on her palm.

"What is it?" Suzu arrived beside Nana with a confused look on her face.

"Happy birthday, Minase-san." Junna greeted as she pulled Mahiru beside her. Suzus' eyes widen at the sudden beautiful goddess appearing before her.

"M-mahiru?" She called as if to confirm that it wasn't really just a fragment of her imagination.

"What is it, Suzu-chan?" Mahiru smiled so brightly for Suzu to even get a full look at her face that she looked to the side while covering her face. The side of her cheek was seen, both Junna and Nana smiled at seeing the blush.

"We'll leave you two at it. See you tomorrow, Tsuyuzaki-san, Minase-san." Junna waited for Nana who retrieved her bag from her seat before they left.

"See you tomorrow, Mahiru-chan, Suzu-chan!" Nana said in a cheery voice.

The two people who were left standing still on their spot, not knowing what to say next, they were in that position for a good minute. Until one of them broke the ice.

"Mahiru, let's go." Suzu took hold of the called girls' hand and brisked walk in silence to the breezy courtyard of the school. Mahiru didn't get a say on it, but she just followed along with the dog.

Suzu stood in front of her Mahiru. Her back facing Mahiru. The mouse was thinking that this was odd so she made a move of her own. She took a step closer and peered at Suzus' face on her side. Suzu in turn had almost squealed and the beating of her heart thundered loudly in her ears. Mahiru was just too much of a beauty that day.

"Are you not looking forward to getting my present for you today?" Mahirus' ears went down and took steps away from the dog.

"That's not it at all, Mahiru!" Suzu stopped Mahiru from what she was doing. She was holding both of Mahirus' wrist. Then she looked down and saw the necklace Mahiru was wearing as well as the gift bag in her hands.

"Hehe, it worked."

"Wha?" Suzu looked at Mahiru in the eyes.

"Happy birthday, Suzu-chan." Mahiru softly smiled.

"What about you dressing up for today?" Suzu just had to ask. Well, it was a treat for her. Too much of a sweet treat. She thought she was gonna faint just by looking at Mahiru.

"It was Kuro-chans' idea. Junna-chan only joined in. Is it weird?" Mahiru suddenly got embarrassed.

"No,no. You're very beautiful. Too beautiful in fact. I think I'd be taken up high if I looked at you for too long." Suzu said with a really serious gaze. Mahiru couldn't help but blush at the blunt honesty the dog is showing.

"That's why Kuro-chan said that..." Mahiru mumbled.

"Plus you're wearing the necklace I gave you! You're giving me much more than happiness! By the way, what's in this gift bag?" Suzu opened the present and took out a carefully packed package.

"I cooked those myself. From my family farm. Fries."

"I haven't eaten these much lately. I was just about to buy one and you just gave me these. These are perfect!" Suzu happily munched on the homecooked fries.

"Seeing your happy face is better more than anything." Mahiru said to herself as she fondly looked at Suzu who almost inhaled the treat.
