Fumi's POV
"Starfish..."
At the response to the word, she stood with her feet apart and was strangely moving her limbs in a rhythm. I was trying to hold back my laughter at the absurdity of the dance, but I can't say that it's wrong. She is accurate in getting the atmosphere right though.
"I'll leave you two for now. An idea just popped into my head. I need to put it into work immediately, it might just fit with the script. I'll see you later, Fumi-senpai, Ichie-senpai." Yuyuko left after helping with Ichie's improv dancing. She's certainly great at thinking on the spot. Maybe the reason for her usual antics that gets me off guard. Then what about those meticulous planning for Rui's birthday... I seriously don't get how and what she's thinking. She's a mystery.
"Earth to Fumi!"
"...What?" I blinked and brought myself out of my own thoughts. Looking down at the pink haired girl, who was dangerously close and just right under my nose.
"I was asking you for your opinion about the impromptu dance for the actual thing?" She moves across the room using her arms for emphasis.
"If it's for the quality of the performance, I don't mind. But it's better to have at least an outline in mind, right?" I pondered with a serious face while she gave me a displeased look.
"Fumi!" She huffed. She stomped as she moved towards me. Still stunned at the alarming tone she was using. "How about you unwind and express yourself with a dance? Consider it part of practice. That might help you get off your strictness, with yourself."
"Wha!" I take a step back while she headed for the speaker we were using and started one of the exciting songs we would use for the welcoming of Urashima Taro to Ryugu-jo. I froze and stood still.
Unconsciously, I looked towards her and was met with a rare glare from the girl. I looked away with a pout.
"Come on Fumi!" The girl was clearly complaining and showing dissatisfaction.
"I won't do it... Unless you do it as well." A low mumble to myself, not wanting to get teased about it by her.
"This is technically still practice you know." Hearing only the first half, Ichie walked towards me still with a bit of force on them.
"I know. So dance with me." I took hold of her hands before she could react. I certainly got the reaction I was going for, that look of both bashfulness and surprise. Now I know why she's so annoyingly consistent with the pranks. She's not used to me being so forward after all.
But that's her fault. She did tell me to unwind by dancing. But I'd rather just watch her enjoy herself while she's dancing. She's a much better dancer than I am. I guess that's part of her experience for being a former idol.
"...You're planning something, aren't you?" She slowly raises her head up to meet my eyes, doubt in her eyes. The music comes to a calmer tune, like it somehow knew the mood, but I'd take it that Ichie already memorized the song in the first place.
"I'm not." I simply replied, unlike the last time she asked. I don't know why she asks that question, but there's nothing behind it. Though I already got to see what I wanted to see.
"Is that so?" Before she could let her thoughts and imagination run wild, I pull on her with my hand and led her through the dance. Tapping my feet to the beat, she did too and that sounded heavenly. The harmony of the taps with the song and the rhythm, it was just... great. This must be what they say about letting yourself go.
In the last half of the song, I let go of her hand and let her do her own dance while I get lost in mine.
Finally the music comes to a stop. Both of us were panting for air, though it doesn't last long with how much we drag ourselves thin just for the sake of the stage.
"Feeling better now? Free, perhaps?" She was the first one to break the counting exhales we were letting out.
"I need to do this more often." I finally reply after a moments silence. If I were honest, yes. I'm feeling a lot better than I did before she started this conversation.
Free.
From the chains of the past, even for just a moment. That... That felt great. I felt liberated.
"Call out to me more often than ignoring me, Fumi." I raised my head at the comment and saw her grinning at me. I could feel a light blush forming on my cheeks.
"I won't." I coldly reply, but the giddy smile on my face wasn't disappearing so soon, so I turned my back on her.
"Fumi!" She grumbled as I felt a huge weight jump on my back. I shrieked.
"I told you not to jump on people's backs so suddenly like that." I complain as the smile on my face finally fades away while I pulled on one of the arms that was draping over my shoulders. Now we were facing each other directly. This is more embarrassing.
"You let me do it when we're alone and we're alone right now, so it should be fine." Her statement totally got me beet red as I cautiously look around for people around who were thankfully not there.
"It is, but we're in school!" I put a finger over her lips in a panic, but she bites it, making me retract my hand away from her. She then put a hand on my shoulder and pulled me down meeting in short chaste kiss.
She pulled away and licked her lips.
That's dangerous.
"I got you."
"You started it." Losing all reason, I pulled her to me and embraced her. Kissing her again, this time more passionate, hungry.
We got caught by Tamao, thankfuly, before we could have gone further.

I'm back ro my initial plan!
This is shorter compared to the previous two, but I liked how this turned out.
