Apo's heart was beating fast as he stepped into his father's chamber. It was nothing unusual that his father calls him from time to time like this but today... he was feeling uneasy. Nothing uneasy about this man is going to turn out good and Apo knew that.

"Hello son, how are you doing?"
Aaron Othanos, the younger brother of the Empire of Alstair greeted him and Apo bowed respectfully at both of his mother and father seated at the lomg dining table of the chamber

"Please. Take a seat."
His mother called him out kindly like she usually does but he could hear her voice quiver somewhere deep down.

This is not good. So not good.
He kept muttering to himself as he oblidged obediently and got seated with them

"I wanted your sister to attend this lunch as well. But I heard... she is confined?"
Duke Aaron raised his eyebrow at Apo and he nodded.

"Yes father. She is."
He replied shortly and the man hummed

"Why is that?"
The elder man questioned again and Apo took an unnoticed deep breath. He contemplated whether he was going to say the truth or not but deciding that he should not let anyone know about what is going on their inner circle, he lied

"It is nothing much. Both Lady Love and Davika made some mistakes in some documents and it was like punishment for being careless"
Apo replied in a nonchalant manner and his father actually did buy it as he nodded his head smiling.

"Good. She should learn her responsibilities. She is going to need them in the future anyway."
He said and Apo wondered what that meant but decided to keep silent about it.

He glanced at his mother who was unusually stiff and he could see she is pretty uncomfortable as well.

Maybe he hit her again
He thought to himself as he stared at the food in front of him

"Aren't you going to eat? It doesn't fill your stomach by just looking at it."
Aaron commented slightly chuckling and Apo gave him a timid smile.

I know eyes can't fill my stomach dammit! I just don't trust you!
Apo cursed in his mind and honestly after everything that was going on, he was not sure if he can eat this food. He was actually feeling like they were poisioned but he did not want Aaron to question him even more, so he slowly served himself with a piece if bread and ham

"I have a low appetite these days. Maybe because of work stress."
He vocalized and Aaron and his mother nodded

"You should take some rest na. It is not good to tire yourself continously"
His mom finally spoke after a long time and he nodded at her smiling

"Your sister... Lady Love... seems to be really close, aren't they?"
Aaron voice out carefully and Apo nodded acting like he was not giving much thought onto it. But he actually did. He was actually paying a kot of attention to this whole thing and his senses are saying that something is really out of place

What are you coming upto father?
Apo thought to himself as he munched a piece of bread

"How is your relationship with the Prince?"
Aaron asked once again referring to Mile and Apo just then gulped the piece of food in his mouth

What are these fragment questions?

Apo could not see where any of this was leading to an knowing that Aaron and his mother does not know about his relationship with Mile, he decided to lie again

"Same as usual. Nothing much father. He is very hot tempered and abusive and I guess I am putting up with that?"
Apo said with a tired face and if there was something Apo was really talented in, it was lying on spot without getting caught
