5. Vinnie's ex comes to town

It's the week after Vinnie won his fight against Deji. The attention that he's been getting has been through the roof. He definitely has some sort of celebrity status and you couldn't be more happy for him.

And it just so happens to be the time when Vinnie's ex comes to LA.

Vinnie is the type to be nice to everyone, even if the relationship was rocky in the past.

So when his ex girlfriend hit him up and said that she'd be in LA and asked if he could help her get around because she didn't know anyone else who lived here, Vinnie said yes.

But he did ask you if it was okay.

How could you tell him not to? You trusted him and it was in his kind nature.

But you didn't expect one "yes" to turn into them hanging out multiple times. They were hanging out every day since the weekend of the fight. You were still on a high that Vinnie won but couldn't celebrate it with him because his ex had all his attention.

Wow perfect timing.

He'd come back to the house late and when you asked him what made him so busy, he just simply said her name.

And on top of that, she didn't seem like the nicest person. You met her once and had some passive aggressive things to say about you. She knew you and Vinnie were now dating seriously and never once asked you if you wanted to hang out with them.

You had a bad feeling about her and when you tried to explain it to Vinnie, he didn't understand. He didn't get his sometimes females can sense when another girl had bad intentions.

She was only in town for a couple more days and you were going to just accept it until Vinnie missed your brother's birthday party. It was his 21st birthday, a day special to him and your brother and Vinnie were really close. And Vinnie missed the entire thing. It hurt both of you that he wasn't there.

Later that night, you sat in the living room furious.

"What's wrong?" He asks when he kicks off his shoes and sees the look on your face.

"You missed his birthday."

It takes Vinnie a hot second to realize what you were talking about and once he does, his heart sinks to the floor.

"Oh fuck...I'm so sorry. I completely forgot. I was with-"

"Her." You finish his sentence with an attitude. "Yeah I know. You always with her these last couple days. Why don't you just get back together with her?"

You really didn't wanna be jealous and that comment was out of pocket but you couldn't help it.

Vinnie looks up and starts walking towards you until he kneels down in front of you.

"What are you talking about? I love you and I wanna be with you."

"Look I get it, you once loved her and stuff but-"

"That's not excuse." He cuts you off and interlocks his fingers with yours. "I'm so sorry. I really meant to be there. I even got him a present and everything. I know I can't make it up to him fully but how about we throw him a surprise party right here in our house. And of course, she won't be there."

"I mean you can invite her if you want." You said dryly.

Vinnie smiles at you and places a kiss on your knuckles. "I don't need her. I never did. All I need is you."
