74. Fitting in

Plot: you meet Vinnie's family

"Get used to coming here." Vinnie told you as y'all walked up to the house hand in hand in the cool air. "Their gonna want you to come like every month."

"That's totally fine." You replied. "I already love them."

You both walk up to the door and it was already unlocked as they were expecting y'all.

"Hi!"

"Hey guys!"

"Come on in!"

Were the words that you heard from them as they saw you and Vinnie. Maria got up from the couch and Nate stopped what he was doing in the kitchen to come and greet the two of you.

They gave you big hugs and you said that it was so nice to finally meet them in person. You'd FaceTimed them with Vinnie before but seeing them in person was on a different level.

"Wow you're so pretty." Maria told you.

"Thank you so much."

Poncho was eagerly wagging his tail, and greeted you first once Nate and Maria took a step back. You bent down on your knees to pet him and he continued to wag his tail excitedly and even licked your hands.

"Wow, he went to you before me." Vinnie laughed.

"I think that says a lot." Maria said.

"Yeah, go get her Ponch." Nate joined in as Poncho kept trying to get your attention.

You stood up and took in your surroundings. The atmosphere was pleasantly comfortable and cozy and you even noticed the Seahawks game playing on the tv.

"This is me coming out of my room for the first time today." Reggie announced as he came into view. He obviously heard the commotion going on here upstairs.

"Reggie!" You exclaimed and went over to give him a hug.

"Hey, what's up?"

He dabbed Vinnie up after.

Following that, Vinnie told you that he was going to drop off the bags in the room. You went with him and he gave you a small tour of the house.

Now settled in the kitchen, you and Vinnie sat on the barstools next to Nate who was making food. Maria was on the couch talking to a friend on Facetime.

"What are you making?" You asked Nate curiously.

"Tacos. But wait, are you and Vinnie staying or are y'all going somewhere out to eat?"

"Nah we're staying here." Vinnie answered.

"Little off topic, but Y/N, you should come back next month and go hiking in Gold Bar with us. It's great there, especially when it snows." Nate said.

Maria overheard and started to come over to where y'all were. "Oh yes! And also for some of Reggie's cross country meets in the spring. He'd love to have you there."

You looked over at Vinnie and he gave you a look as if to say, "See, I told you."

"I'll definitely try to make some time to come back."

As the night went on, you found yourself helping Nate in the kitchen, fixing the guacamole for everyone. Reggie came back from his room and was lowkey stealing tortilla chips on the side.

You had started talking about your family, telling stories that kept them entertained. You realized that your family and Vinnie's family would definitely get along.

Although you didn't notice, Vinnie's attention was all on you, seeing how well you were fitting in to the family. He looked at you with so much love in his eyes. How you talked with his parents and brother as of you've known them for years. How comfortable you felt around them and they felt the same about you.
