9. Late night ride in the rx7

Many people would think that with all the female attention Vinnie gets, that he would be super confident in talking to girls.

But he's actually the opposite.

He's awkward and doesn't have much to say. Even when you came along, he was like that. At first you thought that maybe he didn't like you, but the truth of the matter was that he just doesn't have the talking skills.

Vinnie did like you a lot. He didn't want you to think otherwise.

So he asked you to take a ride with him. And no, he didn't have a specific place in mind. He just wanted to drive. The only way he'd get comfortable with talking with you is if he started out with a drive.

You accepted his offer. You love to go on rides just for fun. It was about 11 pm when you two hopped in his yellow Mazda rx7 and headed for the road.

At first you two didn't talk much. But it wasn't an awkward silence. More like peaceful, even more so since there weren't many cars on the road at this time of night. The windows were down and the wind was blowing through your hair. You had one hand out the window to feel the breeze.

Vinnie picked up his phone. "You can pick a song if you want." And he handed it to you.

You just smiled and took his phone, only scrolling for a few seconds until you put on "Request Refused" by Xavier Wulf. His songs are definitely hype while in the car.

"Holy shit, it's like you read my mind." Vinnie looked over at you with a smile on his face.

You replied, "Xavier is fire, for real."

Vinnie was more comfortable by then. He finally got someone to take a ride with him and had a similar taste in music.

The music must've been a conversation starter because since then, you and Vinnie were having fun talking and lip syncing to music.

He had driven next to the beach and there was nothing but open road there. Both of you couldn't get the smiles off your faces. Which was a good thing. You couldn't stop looking at his and he couldn't stop looking at yours.
