You were never the one to yell or start petty arguments.

You were non confrontational and when things did happen, you'd wanna forgive and forget.

But this time was different.

*

You had flown all the way up to Seattle to visit Vinnie with his friends and the plan was that you two would leave together once the trip is over.

The night was going so well until the middle of dinner.

You had mentioned getting ready to go on the plane for the next morning with Vinnie when his friend Ben shot you a look.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

You gestured to Vinnie, who sat in the seat next to you. "We're leaving tomorrow morning." And out the corner of your eye, you see Vinnie shift in his seat.

You noticed the confusion in his face. "He didn't tell you?" you asked.

"We made plans to do things for the next two days. He didn't tell you?"

Everyone else at the table fell silent, turning away from their own conversations as they were wondering what has going on.

Now Ben wasn't trying to be rude, he was genuinely confused as there was an obvious misunderstanding. You were also questioning yourself because he was sure that he was correct.

You looked over at Vinnie who avoided your gaze. By that alone you could tell that he knew he had fucked up.

"Is that true?"

He glanced at you quickly. "Yeah." Was all he said.

You felt your cheeks getting hot but tried to not let it affect you. "Oh okay," turning back to Ben. "Sorry, my mistake. I didn't know."

And Vinnie is still not saying anything.

"Um, I'm actually pretty full. And I actually forgot, I have to get back to the hotel to pack. Since I'll just be the one leaving." You told Ben sternly but it was directed more at Vinnie because you knew he was listening. Everyone else had gone back to their own conversations. You were glad for that. At least all eyes weren't on you.

Vinnie's head snapped towards you as he heard you say that.

"Are you sure?" Ben asked.

You nodded, opened your wallet, and put some cash on the table. They could use that to pay for your meal.

You made a beeline to the bathroom and Vinnie hesitated before getting up and going after you.

Making it in there before him, you smoothed out your hair, trying to keep the tears at bay.

How humiliating was that?

Everyone at that table knew that he was staying longer except for you. What's worse is that Vinnie didn't even say anything.

Walking out, you saw Vinnie leaning again the wall of the long hallway. His had been looking at his feet until his head shot up at the sound of the door opening. He almost look startled.

Not saying anything, you tried to walk past him but he grabbed your elbow. "Y/N-"

You shrugged him off. "Don't."

"Just wait a second."

"Wait? I can't. I have to go back and pack since I have a flight in the morning."
