44. College events and toxic people

Plot: Vinnie meets the people you go to school with

Ever since you became "tik tok famous" and started hanging out with Vinnie Hacker, the people at school became very passive aggressive towards you.

You were accused of trying to be better than everyone else but in reality, you were the same as you had always been.

Now summer is over and you have to go back to school. A girl that you knew of invited you to a hang out on campus. You figured you'd go since you have a reason to get out the house.

Vinnie knew he shouldn't have invited himself, but he couldn't help it. He knew that you didn't get along with a lot of those people and wanted to be by your side. Plus he'd never actually been on a college campus before except for the one time you showed him around briefly.

The girl that had invited you said that you could "bring a friend". Vinnie saw no problem in that but to you, it came across as, "we are all in relationships and we know that you're single so you can bring someone so you don't feel left out".

Vinnie figured it was a truce, like a white flag being flown in the air but you thought of it as condescending and judgmental.

Of course, not everyone was bad. You had your share of friends and they were the best people ever. Sure you'd laugh with the others but there was always this slight edge of judgment. Sometimes it was like they were jealous of the attention you received on social media and your relationship with Vinnie.

Right now, you and him were friends but everyone could see that the relationship lied between friends and dating.

Everything with these people were either a competition or something done to benefit themselves and you were sick of it. Everyone was an adult. Y'all weren't in high school anymore.

Vinnie was nervous about meeting these people, so when you arrived at the student center of your school, he was surprised to see a girl with pin straight brown hair sprint over, nearly knocking you down from the force.

You laughed and introduced her to Vinnie. "This is Brit."

"It's so great to meet you!" She gushed. "We've heard barely anything about you."

"Been keeping me a secret?" Vinnie furrowed his brows and nudged your shoulder.

You shrugged. "I just don't feel like there's that much to talk about."

"Alex and Mikayla just came." Brit said and grabbed your hand.

This was someone you warned Vinnie about? She seemed so nice.

Brit led the way to the indoor bowling alley where everyone was.

Everyone was socializing when you guys arrived.

"Hey guys! Y/N is here! And she brought a friend."

You greeted your friends and Vinnie was having trouble keeping up with all the names.

You're group of friends were Mikayla, Mia, Alex, Sasha, Josh, and Brit.

Brit was someone you've known since middle school and you met everyone else in college.

Then there was Cole, Elijah, Zach, Kyle, Keeton, Kendall, and Alexis, who were people you knew of in high school but didn't consider friends but you were friendly with each other whenever your paths crossed. Sometimes.
