Plot: after the kiss you and Vinnie shared, the outcome wasn't what you expected

(Requested)
———————————————————————————

School was slowly draining you. It was the week back from spring break which means you'll have less time on your hands due to more homework and trying to maintain good grades until the end of the semester.

You were also alone. Your roommate had transferred to another school which meant that until you'd be all by yourself in the student apartment until they could pair you up with someone else. Now you wished you would have took Vinnie up on his offer to stay with him. But he was starting to get more opportunities in the media space and you felt like you'd be in the way.

You'd been friends with Vinnie for a little over a year now. Y'all weren't dating although there were flirty instances. But nothing came out of it. Until it did.

He had gone to Seattle for spring break. Even though he wasn't in school, he opted to go then while Reggie would be out of school. Vinnie also wanted you to come with him. After hanging out with his family all day and night, Vinnie brought you to a room at his old house to just chill while everyone else did their own thing.

After eating pizza and talking about anime, he kissed you. More than once. And didn't apologize.

Unfortunately, he hadn't talked about it or referenced it in the days to come. You figured he just wanted to keep it lowkey but now he's become distant. He wouldn't answer your phone calls or texts.

Now, you weren't going to hit him up. If he wanted to talk, he would make the effort. You've been trying to focus on your biology homework, labeling pictures and shit. Your eyes kept drifting from your laptop to your phone, desperately wanting to talk to him. Especially since he was the one you kissed you first. He should wanna talk about it.

After contemplating for the thousandth time, you folded and sent him a Snapchat, jokingly asking him to help with your work.

He responded about five minutes later. All he did was send a picture of the ceiling. Nothing more, nothing less.

Now you were ultimately frustrated. He fucking ruined the friendship. You had liked him for a really long time now and thought about kissing him multiple times. But you never dared to cross that line. But he did and you're the one feeling guilty.

Vinnie sat on his bed, trying to make himself contact you. But he knew what you wanted to talk about and he wanted to avoid it. He knew he crossed a line and thought he could uncross it by acting like it never happened but it resulted in him coming across as disrespectful.

"Fuck it," he sighed and picked up the phone and called your number.

You watched your phone ring next to you and you almost let it go to voicemail out of spite. But you didn't want him thinking that you didn't wanna talk to him at all. So you let it ring a few times before answering.

"Hello?"

"Hey Y/N..."

"Hi..." you trailed off.

"So what's up?" He sounded nervous.

You rolled your eyes. "Really Vinnie? You ignore me this whole time and you just want to know what's up?"

"I'm know I'm sorry. I really really am. I just..." he sighed. "I don't know, talking to you is hard."

"Never was a problem until now."

There was a bit of a silence. "I kissed you though."

"Yeah you did. I thought we were good until you started acting weird." You take a deep breath. "Look, if you don't like me and the kiss was a mistake, then fine. But let's not make it weird. I want you to talk to me again-"

"I can't...go back to normal." He said and you felt your stomach drop.

"So what? That's it? We aren't friends anymore?" You hated the idea of not having Vinnie in your life anymore.

"I didn't mean to....I didn't-"

"You didn't mean to kiss me? So why did you?"

He was stuttering and you started to get angry. There was a possibility that you wouldn't like what he was going to say.

You could hear get him getting agitated over the phone. He ran his hands through his hair and said, "I didn't mean to fuck it up. But I did mean to kiss you."

"What?" You asked, confused.

"I did want to kiss you. I had wanted to go a while. And then you kissed me back but I was so nervous. But you didn't even bring it up."

"Because you didn't!" You argue back.

"Well I did want to. And I still want to. It's all I've been able to think about. I guess it just felt way not to talk."

"Maybe for you but not for me. Especially when I didn't know the reason. You made me feel like you regretted it and didn't like me like that."

"Well that's not true."

"You don't regret it?"

He laughed lightly. "Of course not."

"Me either." You smiled.

"So...you'd be into doing it again?"

"Yeah, as soon as possible actually."

He let out a sigh of relief. "Then I'm coming over after I get out of this meeting later."
