Plot: you and your best friend Vinnie get caught up in trying to make your ex boyfriend jealous and go too far
———————————————————————————

"We're here for a good time, not a long time." Vinnie told you as he handed you another shot glass.

"That's funny coming from someone who likes to sit in his room." You laughed and downed the drink. It stung as it went down your throat.

Vinnie would laugh a little too hard when you'd scrunch your nose and clear your throat. He could also tell by your movements that you were getting drunk, if not tipsy already.

"Okay, take a break." He said so you could recollect yourself. Part of you didn't want to just to be rebellious but the thought of a hangover in the morning was enough to make you want to stop for a little bit.

You look at him, wanting to ask if he wanted to leave soon, knowing he would rather be at home but he was looking somewhere across the room.

He face that was relaxed and playful earlier was now tense, like when he's anxious or angry. And the anger was something you didn't see often. He said it was a bad trait to have.

Reaching out for him arm, you got his attention.

"Everything okay?" You asked.

He nodded before glancing behind you once again. You were about to turn around when his hand was on your shoulder and stopped you.

"Don't turn around."

So of course you had to. But you wished you had listened to Vinnie.

Your ex boyfriend, Jalen.

So he caused the sudden shift in the atmosphere.

Anger rushed through your veins and you wanted to look away, but couldn't. You hadn't seen him in almost a year and the last things he told you still haunt you in the back of your mind.

And by text.

Hey, I've been thinking and I don't think is going to work, I'm sorry. I know we've been talking for a long time but tbh, I don't really like you like that. I was just lonely. I've been wanting to tell you this for weeks but I never wanted you completely out of my life because you're genuinely a good person. But yeah I was leading you on. I can't sugarcoat this. I'm sorry. Just know that you'll make some guy out there happy. It's just not me.

This shit fucked your mind up.

Jalen was someone that you genuinely liked as a significant other and he left you in shambles.

Vinnie hated him. And that's probably and understatement. Vinnie was the one who comforted you in the car and in your room while you told him everything and cried your eyes out. He couldn't forget it no matter how hard he tried.

You've definitely made progress since then and Vinnie wasn't about to let Jalen's presence destroy that.

"Y/N," Vinnie calls out for you over the loud music. You heard him but were too busy looking at your ex. He had no right to be here with that large smile and having a good time and making the girls around him think he was a genuine guy.

Then your view was blocked by Vinnie standing in front of you. Your eyes trailed from his black shirt, to his chains, then to his face.

"He's not worth it. We're supposed to be having fun."

"I fucking hate-"

"Okay, okay." He cut you off. "I agree with whatever you're about to say. But don't let him ruin tonight."
