Definitely started dating before the meetings. See they didn't realize who the other was at first, considering the states had not really met/seen DC a whole lot before the meetings and they kept forgetting to ask for names.

Definitely told the other a fake name at first, cause telling a non state the actual name might end up weird.

They eventually told eachother, kinda just like "I have something to tell you" and both saying it at once.

They were very suprised.

Wash made a whole deal out of his friend being the government xemself.

DC was very flustered and assuring him it was nothing much.

They did not start dating for a long while, although acting very domestic with eachother. Like laying on the other during outings, bringing the other food randomly, thar kind of stuff. They thought the other only wanted to be friends.

The whole west had to hear about how cute Wash's mystery friend was.

Wash would flop onto the couch next to someone and they'd go on this whole spiel about how much Wash wanted to kiss xem but xe probably just wanted to be friends.

DC was very scared to come out to him with the xe/xem pronouns cause alot of the senators had made it clear they Did Not like cisn't people.

Eventually the west, tired of the pining pulled some strings and set them up on an actual date.

It was very awkward to say the least, but they did come out a couple at the end of it.

IDC caught them kissing in DC's office once, before xe told her about the relationship.
