What If...
You are in a storm.
Surrounded by what appears to be an infinite void. So you've been told, as you are just as blind as the rest.
The storm pulls you away from discomfort. Back and forth you sway, as your instinct is to continue holding on.
People have even told you, to never let go.
Ever.
Some have let go in the past, but they were never seen again.
Only mentioned, as we all hold on for dear life.
The thought of letting go is terrifying, as we know nothing of what is beyond.
We've become comfortable with the struggle and pain during our entire lives', as this is all we know.
"Things could be worse", you'll tell yourself.
However, what if one day you let go?
Everything you thought you knew about this world, and even yourself, would mean nothing at all.
As the world is so much bigger than with what your little eyes can see.
Didn't you know?
Those eyes do not belong to you.
As someone else taught you how to see, where seeing comes naturally.
Slip away and never be seen again, you'll tell yourself that that will be the end, as the whispers continue in the dark.
"Weak."
"Pathetic."
"Quitter."
While the whispers are only covered with their own greatest fear.
The fear they will most likely never know, as they have been blinded.
Just like you.
However, you begin to question.
To ask yourself, "What if?"
"What if I let go?"
