Time is a funny thing. So complicated and complex that people still are trying to figure it out. Between Daylight Savings time to Leap year, they seem to always be changing things with the calendar. From making it longer to shorter. But in reality everyone was just making things more complicated.
Time was a simple thing in Kendra's eyes. Everyday is Today- the present. You never will have to face tomorrow if you continue to live in today. Although, Kendra couldn't exactly live in today. Feeling as though she was cursed to always live in a mixture of yester-year and tomorrow decade.
Sitting here now, Kendra wished she could see the present time. Currently sitting in a chair next to thee Steve Rogers, it was something she had always wanted to be doing. Fury was in the process of explaining the SHIELD protocol to Steve. Kendra was staring ahead, although her eyes did flicker over when a vision started appearing.
"Bucky?" The man in front of Steve looked confused for a moment, before his glare returned.
"Who the hell is Bucky?" With that he jumped at Steve to attack him. Steve moved out of the way just in time before using his shield to deflect Bucky's metal arm.
It was strange though. This vision seemed to be like having double vision. Like when you hold up a pair of 3D glasses and only look through one color of it. But if you looked through the blue instead of the red side, it seemed to change what you could see.
In the same location was Steve and Bucky working together to fight off what looked to be Hydra. A giant orange man, that looked like he was pumped up with the Serum that was in Bucky and Steve. But this guy had it doubled. They seemed to be struggling against the Super Soldier. But they were working together.
Steve threw his shield at the Hydra agent that was coming up behind Bucky as he ducked out of the way of the Super Soldier. Bucky flipped a huge gun over his shoulder, shooting behind Steve, where someone was coming at him.
Kendra jumped as a hand landed on her forearm. Warm and familiar.
"Are you alright, Ma'am?" Steve questioned as he kept his large hand on her forearm, as if afraid it would hurt. Kendra let a smile fold out onto her face.
"Did I zone out? So sorry- Nicholas' speeches are repetitive." Kendra told him hearing Fury scoff in offense of what she had said. But heard Steve let out a chuckle.
"Don't blame my explanation for you zoning out." Fury muttered in annoyance. Kendra just grinned. "Did you see anything new?" Fury asked, although he knew Kendra wouldn't tell him even if she had. Steve furrowed his brows though- confused.
"See anything? What- But- What do you mean?" Steve questioned, clearly extremely confused. Kendra let out a slight giggle, shaking her head.
"Nicholas, you haven't told Steve about me yet? Was I not zoned out long enough?" Kendra joked before tilting her head slightly in the direction of Steve. "I'm blind, Captain Rogers. But I also see so much more than you could ever imagine." Kendra just confused Steve so much more. She could see more than he could? What did that even mean?
"Kendra, You're not really helping." Fury said with a bit of amusement in his rough voice. Kendra was really growing on him, but he would never admit that- willingly. Fury turned to look at Steve. "Kendra has visions of the past and future- but cannot see what's right in front of her." Steve's eyes widen in shock.
"So you just saw something- wait when you said I kept you waiting...You saw my past? Or my future?" Steve didn't know what to ask, but his mind was buzzing with so many questions that he seemed to be stumbling on his words.
"Both actually." Kendra confirmed causing Steve to feel a bit of worry. Not sure what she had seen and what she hasn't. Kendra could feel his worry. Almost like it was her own. "You've done nothing that would be cause for any concern, Captain. You are the real hero." She assured him before a smirk pulled at the corners of her mouth. "Although, you could use some pointers on your combat strategy." This caused a shocked laugh from Steve and a loud snort from Fury.
"I do believe she just challenged you, Captain." Fury pointed out. Kendra laughed at Fury. Steve shook his head.
"I don't fight dames- women." Steve corrected himself quickly. He learned once that women don't like being called dames.
"I am no dame, indeed, Captain." Kendra told him with a smile. "But I also know for a fact that you couldn't touch me if you tried." She informed him causing Fury to hum in agreement. "At least not willingly let you touch me." She winked playfully. What? She knew she couldn't have him- he belonged to Peggy in the end of his path. But it didn't mean she couldn't play around a bit. Steve blushed slightly, happy she couldn't see him, but made sure to avert his face from Fury- who saw it all.
"I highly doubt that, Ma'am." Steve said. His tone seemed to be slightly lower. Something Kendra picked up on. But she didn't know if it was from her flirting or her challenge. Men hated to be challenged.
"Wanna make a bet then, Captain?"
