Steve stumbled slightly as they dropped out the other end of the sparking circle. Looking around he saw they had appeared somewhere foreign. Maybe Japan or china.. He couldn't honestly tell with how little he had seen in this time period. He just knew there was a lot of bright colors and decorations for what looked to be for Chinese celebrations.
"Let's go." Kendra told him as she pulled his hand, her walking stick in her other hand. Steve stumbled slightly, still a bit uncoordinated after the magic transportation she did.
"What was that back there? Barton said you are a witch- but witches don't exist." Steve rambled as Kendra pulled him through town towards a huge building. Once they got to the front door, Kendra turned towards him.
"I don't have a lot of time to explain everything. I'm not a witch though- kind of insulting." She breathed out. "You need to know, Steve, Bucky won't recognize you." She informed him. Steve looked at her confused.
"Won't remember me? How? How is he even a live? He feel out of a train on the mountains, I watched it happen!" Steve exclaimed, clearly confused and a bit frustrated. Kendra placed her hand on his arm, trying to calm him down.
"When Bucky fell out of the train, he was found by hydra." Steve's jaw clenched.
"That's not possible. I stopped Hydra." Kendra shook her head at him.
"You stopped Red Skull. Hydra is more than one person. Anyone can take charge." Kendra pointed out causing Steve to frown in thought. He hadn't thought of that. "Hydra has been wiping his memory every time he remembers anything or rebels against them. Which is why this is important."
"How are you planning to get him to trust you?" Steve questioned, a bit concerned for the woman in front of him.
"Well- now I have you to distract him. If I can get close enough I can give him his memory back." Kendra told him, but her senses flared as she could smell something familiar. The smell of Pine trees hitting her nose as Bucky was on the roof of the building, breaking in stealthy. "He's here. Let's go."
"Wait- how do you know?" Steve asked as he pulled the door open for her, letting her pull him inside.
"It smells like Pine trees." She simply said which only confused him more. How would she know what he smelled like? Or better yet- how did she narrow down the pine smell? Steve just kept getting more and more questions for this mysterious woman. Kendra kept leading him until they went up the stairs, hearing a gun shooting. Steve wrapped his arm around Kendra's waist, pulling her behind him in fear of the gun shots. "Steve!" She squealed in surprise.
"Stay here." Steve whispered as he released her, turning to sneak around the wall to see where the gunfire was coming from. Kendra let out a breath before shaking her head no and following where the sound was coming from. Steve noticed her and sighed.
"This is my plan, Captain. Meaning, I take the lead." She whispered softly. A red blush ran up Steve's neck as he sighed again. Steve let Kendra take the lead, following her as she went to stand near a hotel room door. Right when it opened a man with long brown hair stepped out. A metal arm and a mouth piece. Kendra held out her walking stick as he slammed his arm out, to grab her before she smacked it him causing a small noise of shock. Bucky threw his metal hand out this time only for Steve grab him.
Kendra stepped to the side as Bucky moved to grab his gun, Steve reaching out to knock the gun out of it's original aim. Before Steve grabbed the gun and shoved it back, smacking Bucky into the face and knocking his mouth piece off of him. His face moved to the side as the piece fell off and Steve held his gun up.
"Bucky??" Steve questioned, trying to see the man better. Bucky's eyebrow furrowed in confusion as Kendra moved around them, using her stick to knock him off his feet. Steve glanced at her, shocked that she could take his friend to the floor so easily.
"Focus, Captain." She told him before she moved towards Bucky, kneeling next to him. "Bucky-"
"Who the hell is Bucky?" He questioned moving to get up but Kendra moved quickly by knocking Steve over as well, causing him to fall on top of Bucky. Steve grunted.
"Sorry- you can weigh him down better than I could." Kendra explained as she looked towards the direction of Bucky. Bucky stared at her confused. She seemed familiar. So did the man on top of him. "Bucky. I can help you. Do you want to remember?" She questioned him. Bucky stared at her in even more confusion and a bit of frustration.
"I don't want to hurt you." Bucky mumbled as he tried to get out from under Steve, but Steve placed his weight fully on him.
"Well it's good thing you won't." Kendra remarked with a slight laugh. Steve and Bucky shared a look before looking back at Kendra. "Now- about those memory's."
