When Kendra saw the future, she knew what she had to do. She had to prevent the future the best she could. No matter what happened to her. She had to take matters into her own hands. Figure a way to recruit a team of the best.
Professor's Xavier's gifted students, also known as the X-Men. The team that wasn't even apart of the war in the original future she had seen. They would make a huge difference.
The Avengers, recruited earlier than they were supposed to be. Not that it really mattered when they were recruited- but it got a lot of things out of the way. The war that broke up the Avengers never happened and Tony and Steve never broke up. Their friendship was still strong. Although Tony would never be able to look at Bucky the same as the others- he still forgave him. He knew he didn't want to do it.
The Super Squad were a new set of recruitments as well. They were thrown into the mix more so for backup. They wouldn't be the best up against a Titan, but Kendra knew they could handle the Chitauri or the hounds.
Peter Parker and Scott Lang were part of the Avengers now. Both well trained and ready for whatever came their way.
Peter Quill was here with his Guardians.
Loki and Thor were present with their warrior friends.
It seemed that everyone Kendra recruited, showed up. Ready to defend Earth like it was just another day in the year.
Kendra stood at the barrier of Wakanda. The Time Stone around her neck. The teams were within the barrier, watching for her signal. Steve was standing the closes to her, making sure no one would get to her before him. Bucky was nearby as well for support. He knew that Steve was scared.
But no one, was more afraid than Kendra Fennick. She may not include herself in the title of an Avenger or even think of herself as a hero. But she showed the same fear that most hero's hold when they are about to go into a major fight. Her fear was different though. She was calculating. Going through the process of her plan. Making sure she wouldn't miss a single moment of it.
You see, this whole time, Kendra kept a secret. A secret that would make Steve worry. Would make Loki upset. Would cause Bucky and Natasha to feel a bit of betrayal. Hell, even Tony would feel the sickness of being upset. But that sacrifice was necessary. With Great Power, comes Great Responsibility. She had heard that phrase from a vision from Peter Parkers future. Responsibilities always come with Great Sacrifice. Maybe she was a hero after all. But after this- would anyone see her as that?
"It's time." Kendra breathed, loud enough for Steve to hear her. He nodded, signaling the rest of the teams. A ship appeared out of nowhere- as if it was invisible this whole time. The trees blowing down from the pressure as it lands. A giant man stepping out with a group of people.
"Are you the one who has been ahead of me this whole time?" Thanos questioned as his eyes landed on the young mortal in front of him. A laugh breaking out of his throat at the humor behind the situation. "I Will Shred This Universe Down To Its Last Atom. And Then... Create A New One... A Grateful Universe." He spoke as if he knew he would win this. He didn't see the hundreds of warriors beyond the barrier. All he saw was the one Blind Woman. The one woman that had caused his mission in life to become so difficult.
"I would love to hear how you plan to do that- You see, Thanos- I can call you that right?" Kendra questioned as she walked a bit towards the titan, causing Steve to be on edge. "It's either Thanos or Barney. You pick. Anyway- I don't think you realize how far you have already fallen. How much you really don't know about this planet." Thanos watched her, no amusement on his face. Although, within the barrier Tony was smiling. Proud of her being a smart ass in the face of danger. "You may see a planet that is not prepared- slowly destroying our own planet with our tech. Killing our own. Hell, I see it too. No pun on the blindness."
"I think your time for chats are don-" Thanos tried to interrupt, but Kendra shook her head at him.
"No interrupting. It's rude." She scolded him as if he was nothing more than a mere child. "See, this is our planet. Not yours. And the fact that it's ours means that we are the ones who make decisions for it. We are the ones who are responsible for it. Not some purple giant who has some kind of messed up hero complex." Kendra held her walking stick, twirling it in front of her. "You see, I may just be a mere Blind mortal. A Dame to most even. But you know what else I am?" She asked as she seemed to make eye contact with the Titan. Thanos stared into her Green eyes, trying to figure out what she meant.
"Tell me, what are you?" He questioned, thinking he was amusing her thoughts before he killed her.
"I am...Inevitable." Kendra spoke with such confidence, throwing Thanos of as the barrier shimmered out, showing the army behind her. Steve stepped up next to her as she pulled out a shimmery stone. It extended into a sharp sword. Thanos knew what it was instantly. Anyone from outside of this galaxy would know it.
"How-" Kendra shook her head.
"Doesn't matter." The army behind her yelled their mottos as other ships were landing around them. The army's clashing together. Thanos had the Chitauri, some kind of hound looking creatures and frost giants. He still didn't seem prepared for the army that followed behind this blind woman. A fire like ball came zooming out of the sky as the war started. Captain Marvel landing to fight along with Kendra.
