Chapter LX: Over the Year

Kendra took a bit of time- realizing the war was coming at her so fast that she felt like she was running through it like the Flash. Deciding to slow it down for a moment, she began to train with the others. Against Steve's wishes of course. But he didn't argue with her. Just decided to stand by in case anything happened.

But Tony- he thought something was up. Most people would be acting as if walking on eggshells if they found out they had a literal bomb in their mind. But Kendra acted like nothing was going to happen. He didn't have a need to train like the others, since his powers were with his suit. But the moment he heard that Kendra was taking a slow year and was training during it- he knew something was up.

He kept an eye on her throughout every training session. Making snarky comments when he was there so it seemed less weird. But he was worried about her. Suspicious as well. What normal person would risk their life this much- unless.. Did she know something they didn't? Did she withhold information that would let them know what happens with her? She says she can't see herself- but did she lie? Was it all a lie? And if it was- what else is a lie?

Kendra kept her head down. Helping Wanda with her training. She told her of some people who would be joining soon to help her. A Stephen Strange would be joining soon- she knew she didn't even have to go to him. He'll come to her. But Kendra knew he would be a good person to help Wanda. Also Carol. But it wasn't as easy to reach out to her, without her thinking it was life or death.

Kendra had some phone calls throughout the year.

Matt Murdock called her a month or so after she reached out to him. He asked for whatever she could give him on the terror running around Hell's Kitchen. So she went on to tell him about Wilson Fisk. Warned him of his armor, told him of the goons that worked with him. The drug dealing, human trafficking- Vanessa. She told him everything she could.

A month after, Wilson Fisk was in jail- Super Prison. His charges full with Homicide, Accomplice to many crimes, including Drug Dealing, Kidnapping, Murder- the list goes on. He was sentenced to life several times over. The people Kendra had mentioned were working with him was thrown in prison as well. But the difference she really made with the future was that Wilson Fisk was thrown into an isolation ward. He had no way to make friends or have contact with anyone.

Forever alone.

Matt agreed afterwards to do whatever Kendra needed him for. She put him in charge of taking care of the law side of things. Scott Lang's crimes were taken care of. Matt also was keeping an eye on Secretary Ross.

Jessica Jones called after Matt had. Mostly just to tell Kendra that she was there for her when and if she needed her help. Luke Cage was also in on the call. Agreeing his help also. Kendra went ahead and told them both of the things to look out for. She learned that Killgrave was still on the move. But Kendra made sure to tell Jessica exactly what to look for.

Peter Parker ended up becoming like a son to Tony. Kendra could see it. Hell, even Steve noticed it. At first, Steve was against a kid being on the team. But Kendra went on to explain to him just how strong Peter really was. How he was actually stronger than the others. His spider senses were enough to make his reflexes faster than Natasha Romanoff. His strength was stronger than Steve or even Bucky. His swinging wasn't equal to flying around- but it was enough to get him to places fast.

After Kendra explained just how brilliant the supposed kid was, Steve took it as a chance to train with him. Steve and Peter were close, but everyone knew- Tony was Peter's role model. And always would be.

Bucky ended up being woken up this year as well. Shuri had not only removed Hydra from his mind- but also redid his metal arm. Making it more hero like- or as Bucky put it, making it so it doesn't stand out as much. A sheer black metal with gold lines going through it. Bucky was staying back in Wakanda for the time being. He knew the war was going to happen near where he was- it was safer if they had it happen there rather than someplace like New York.

Kendra was currently home. Steve deciding to hang back for a bit and train more.  She had made up some sandwiches and tea, setting it on the table before she heard her guest show up finally.

"Well, you took your sweet time." Kendra said with a smile before gesturing to the tea and sandwiches. "Lunch?"

"Of course."
