Chapter LVI: Pushing Emotions Aside

Kendra walked through her portal with tears in her eyes. She had no idea where that all came from. No idea why she yelled back or why she said what she said.

"Kendra?" Kendra snapped her head around, confused for a moment. She relaxed when a metal hand and fleshy hand grabbed her upper arms. Trying to calm her down. "Hey- Hey it's alright, It's me. Bucky." Bucky spoke quickly. He noticed the tears in her eyes almost immediately. Which she was already trying to blink back.

"Bucky-"

"What's wrong? What happened?" His steel eyes looked from her eyes to the bandaid on her forehead. "Are you hurt? Does Steve know? Where is he??"

"Bucky, everything is fin- fine." Kendra told him calmly. He didn't believe it for even a minute, but didn't push her. He could tell something must have happened between her and his best friend. It was the only thing he could think of. "Did you- did you uh meet Sam Wilson yet?" She asked, pushing her emotions away like how a true soldier does. But she's not a soldier. Bucky knew that.

"Huh? Oh yeah, Sam is around here somewhere." Bucky informed her. Kendra nodded, swallowing hard.

"Then are you ready to get Hydra out of your head??" She asked with a smile. Bucky grinned, shaking his head. He knew Kendra was all about helping others. That's what made it so easy to get along with her. She reminded him so much of his best friend. It was a bit frightening at just how much.

"Thought you'd never ask."

Bucky walked through the portal before Kendra did. Looking around at the trees surrounding them.

"This- It's a forest- mountains?" He muttered, obviously confused. Kendra smirked, laughing a bit at his confusion.

"Well, I couldn't just portal into Wakanda's security. They would have killed us both. She walked up to something that seemed to shimmer under different angles.

"Is that-"

"A shield. Yes." She tapped her walking stick against it with a grin. "I am here to see Princess Shuri of Wakanda." Kendra spoke up loudly. Bucky's eyes widened slightly.

"Princess?!"

"Calm down. And don't fangirl over anyone. They are just as normal as us." Bucky stared at Kendra, raising his metal hand up as he tried to process what she just said. "Well- minus the metal arm and blind seer thing." She added with a giggle. Bucky shook his head as someone walked out of the shimmery shield.

"Who are you?" The man asked, his accent dripping off of his words. Kendra smiled at the man.

"T'Challa." Kendra greeted, raising her free hand up in a slight wave. "My name is Kendra Fennick and this is James Barnes-"

"Bucky- I go by Bucky." He spoke up for himself. T'Challa looked between the two before glancing at Bucky's arm.

"And how do you know me?"

"We are friends. Well- not yet. Soon. I'm here to actually see your sister, Shuri. She can help my friend here." She explained. T'Challa looked at her unsure before someone walked out of the shield.

"I can handle this, brother." Shuri said with a smile. "That metal arm is so cool." She said as he eyes looked over Bucky's arm. "How can I help you both?"

"Bucky here has Hydra in his head- a group of baddies. If they say some words he gets Bippidi Boppidi Booed into another person and proceeds to try and kill people." T'Challa stepped back slightly, seeing that as a threat for his people. His eyes catching sight of Kendra's walking stick.

"How did you get the Vibranium? That is not outside of my home." He mentioned, bringing Shuri's eyes to the walking stick as well as Bucky's.

"You mean like Steve's shield?" Bucky questioned.

"I know some people- it's not important. Can you help my friend, Shuri?" Kendra asked, turning her attention to the younger woman.

"Of course- I can try at least." She offered. Kendra smiled.

"I can walk you through it." Kendra told her simply. Bucky grinned as the other two looked at her confused.

"Why can't you do this then if you know how?" T'Challa asked, for both him and his sister. Bucky chose to speak up at this time.

"Yeah- she can see the future and stuff. You get used to it." Kendra rolled her eyes laughing.

"And Shuri had to be the one to do it. I can't change everything." T'Challa narrowed his brown eyes at the woman.

"You have changed things??" He questioned.

"Of course, I have. If I hadn't- then your father, the King would be dead." Kendra told him with a smile. "You're welcome by the way. I don't really need any thank yous." Bucky snorted at her as she started to walk towards the barrier. "Oh- I would like a room though please. I won't stay long. Maybe a night so I can rest up for my next adventure."

"Wait!! You're leaving me here?!" Bucky exclaimed following after her.
