THANDI
I wake up pressed against a firm warm bare chest, his arms are drapped on me as he holds me and our legs are tangled together under the sheets. So I wasn't dreaming last night
"Good morning mufunwa" he speaks with his morning voice and I don't move to look at his face, instead I keep my face leveled with his chest
"What are you doing here?" I ask with a quiet voice still feeling drained from yesterday's events
"I'm laying with my wife"
"What about your other wife? It's not a good thing to leave your newly wedded wife alone on your wedding night" I say feeling bitter that he really went ahead with it, I knew he would but now that it has happened... It's going to take a lot to come to terms with it
"I'm where I'm supposed to be, where I want to be, there was no way I was going to let you be alone Thandiwe, I don't have to remind you that I love you and even though you may think I had forgotten about you, I never did"

"She left with Dante. Baby, stop pushing me away" He says and hold on more to me as if I'm physically pulling from me
"Maybe it's best that I do... Maybe it'll make it easier to-"
"Don't say it... Don't say you want to leave me..." he kisses the top of my head

"When are you leaving for Mozambique?"
"Tomorrow morning"
"You know that Jerome is doing this on purpose right? He's trying to get you and Emmé alone"
"Part of the deal was that once I've married Emmé I'd lead in a lot of the dealings as he starts taking the backseat, this is just a business trip"
"That came conveniently after your wedding, why are you choosing to ignore the real purpose of this. He's sending you to your honeymoon"

I did not expect to wake up next to him. My plan was to actually lock myself in here until he leaves with Emmé because I know that seeing hin leave with her will be the most painful thing, although nothing can top the pain that I felt yesterday seeing them together as the new Mr and Mrs
Just as agreed we spend the day together, just the two of us without the disturbance of the outside world. We make brunch together and when we are done we clean up together and get in the hot tub together to relax, Gundo doesn't leave my side, even when I want to take a quick nap after the bath he naps with me, arm around my waist keeping me close to him
