THANDI
It takes a while for me to open my eyes and when I do it feels like I've been sleeping for the longest time. I blink a few times adjusting mybeyes to the light then I look around the room.
I'm in my bedroom... In my house
I'm still wearing yesterdays clothes and my head feels a bit fuzzy. I don't remember how I got home but I do remember bits and pieces of last night
I went to the house warming, it was packed... I had a drink and after a while I started feeling funny... The last thing I remember is Chase... I think he took me to one of his rooms and from there... Everything goes blank
I sit up on the bed still trying to make of it all. If I'm in my house then I should atleast remember driving home last night. I didn't take Marvin, my current driver with me so...
I look around for my phone and find it on the night stand
There's a few missed calls, the usual from Gundo. One from Melokuhle and three from an unknown number which I decide to ignore
I quickly dial Marvin and ask him to come in the house then I get up. I feel okay, my clothes are still intact. My body doesn't feel sore... But I don't have peace of mind... I don't just black out, that's never been me and I don't want to think of the worst but my mind is already ahead of me
I don't bother bathing first because Marvin is coming from the cottage outside so I don't want to keep him waiting, I go to the living room to meet him there
"Ma'am, is everything okay?" He asks with concern
"I think so... Last night, how did I get home?"
"I fetched you. I received a call from Doctor Chase, he told me you'd need a a driver so I requested a ride to his house after he sent me the location"
"Was I awake when you got there?"
"Barely, I had to carry you into the car"
"I was out of it?"
"You were" he confirms
"Is there anything that seemed out of place when you came to get me?"
"Other than you blacking out, no..."
"What happened when we got home?"
"I carried you in and had my wife tuck you in. You can check the surveillance, she met us by the driveway" He says and I can tell he's worried I'll go off at him
"Thanks Marvin, that will be all"
"Is everything okay? Should I call the boss?"
"No, it's okay..."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, It's fine... And thank your wife for me" I say and he nods "Before you go Marvin, I'll need you to drive me somewhere, say in about forty minutes?"
"Of course Ma'am, you'll find me outside"
I rush back upstairs and call Belinda, a former colleague of mine arranging a consultation. I don't feel like I was physically violated, I think I'd be able to feel on my body. However, This doesn't make sense and usually when something bugs me like this, there's more to it
When I'm done getting ready I go out to find Marvin and he takes me to the hospital where Belinda works
"Thee Thandi! It's been so long" She welcomes me with a hug when I enter her consultation room
"It sure has, thank you for squeezing me in"
"It's not a problem, although I was a bit surprised when you called"
