Mattheo's POV

I sit in the Slytherin common room, at one of the sofa chairs, propping my legs up onto the table, and flicking through a book.

The school bell rings, marking the end of lessons, and students begin to pour into the common room, some of them not even Slytherins. They all wander around the room, standing with their friends and just stare at me, whispering and gossiping. That's until the boys finally arrive.

"GET OUT YOU BLOODY MUPPETS!" Enzo exclaims at the lot of them, and they begin to scurry off in all directions.

I scoff.

"Mate." Draco sighs, as they all approach me, flopping down onto the sofas. "McGonagall requests your presence."

"Requests my presence?" I snigger.

"Yes, that's what she did say."

"Fine." I roll my eyes, slamming the book shut as I stand up.

"What are you going to say?" Blaise asks. "She's going to ask you a lot of questions you know."

"Don't worry Zabini. You know I have everything planned out." I sigh, sorting out my collar.

"He's back." Liam says, his arms folded as he looks up at me.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"You're talking. You're back at school. Back to normal." Liam says.

"I'll never be back to normal. Not whilst Layla has been taken." I say sternly. "I've just had a flicker of hope - Spector is here. At the castle. That makes it easier to find out Layla's whereabouts."

"I've been keeping a close eye on him boss." Dylan says. "Just as you told me, after you beat him up. He left the castle, and fifteen minutes later he returned. I have a feeling he's going to continue to be doing that - leaving and returning to the castle."

"Leaving for what?" Draco asks on confusion.

"Probably to check on Layla!" Enzo figures it out.

"Nice work Jacobs." Mattheo says, patting Dylan on the back. "Keep doing what you're doing. Once I've had a word with Minerva, we shall form a plan."

I walk out of the room and towards the Headmistress's office, knocking on the door and it opens in an instant.

"Mattheo. Welcome." She says, her voice wobbly and old as she takes a seat, gesturing for me to take one too.

I slump down into the chair and fold my arms.

"As you may know, I have a few questions for you. Is that okay?" She asks, and I raise my brow in confusion. "Is something the matter?"

"I'm just puzzled as to why you haven't expelled me yet. Or addressed the elephant in the room. You know. Those rumours." I sigh. "Might as well get it over and done with."

"Mr Martinez, I'll get to that in a minute, but at the moment I want to hear your side of the story. I'm not very fond of rumours and gossip. I'd rather hear it from the person it's about."

"Wow. Very respectful." I say, slightly surprised.

"My first question." She sits more forward in her seat now, her hands interlocked, resting on the table as she looks at me sincerely. "Where on earth is Layla Lopez?"

I pause.

My Layla.

"I have a question for you first, Professor McGonagall. If that's okay with you?" I clear my throat.

"Do ask Mr Martinez."

"Do you really believe that all evil from the wizarding world has been eradicated, ever since Lord Voldemort was killed?" I ask, tilting my head slightly.

She looks at me, wide eyed as she considers my question.

"Unfortunately I don't believe so. Evil never goes away." She says. "Where are you going with this?"

"One name. Henry Spector."

"What?"

"Heard of it before Professor?"

"No- I..." She pauses for a second, her brows furrowing when she takes a breath. "Spector... Anne Spector. Rings a bell."

I immediately stand up from my seat, taking out my wand. The Headmistress looks slightly startled before I chant a spell.

"Muffliato." I say, casting a spell so our conversation cannot be overheard by Henry himself or his minions.

"Mattheo Martinez this is absurd. Tell me what's going on right now." The professor says, and I take my seat once more, leaning forward and propping my elbows on my thighs as I interlock my hands.

"Tell me a little about this Anne." I say to her and she sighs, unsure, but she decides to answer.

"She wasn't much younger than me, but we attended Hogwarts at the same time. I saw her around school sometimes, heard her name mentioned. Wasn't really acquainted with her however." She explains.

"I see. Well have you heard of her?"

"No. Not since school. And that was a while ago if you cannot tell." She laughs.

"Anne Spector is Henry Peter's mother."

No words. Only a confused look on her face.

"What?"

"His name isn't even Henry Peters. It's Henry Spector. He's a fake. He isn't no hero. He's evil, Professor."

"What in Merlin's name are you talking about!?"

"Listen Professor... There's a side to the Order... a side where many many witches and wizards turned - their intentions became bad. Evil. They're no good - all they yearn for is power and money and they'd do anything to get it. And Henry Spector? He's at the centre of all of it."

She has a look on her face that shows that she hasn't a clue what to believe.

"Why should I believe you? Why hasn't the ministry or the wizarding world heard of this... of this evil?"

"It's all in secret. All hidden. Anyone who speaks Spector's name out loud... they die. I've been collecting proof. I've seen these things with my own two eyes Professor."

"And how can an eighteen year old do all of this himself?" She scoffs. "You're making no sense."

"This is where it comes back to Layla. The Lopez's. What were the Lopez's family known for Professor?"

"Their magic. Dumbledore and I studied their Mutantur Materia for a while." She says. "Layla never obtained those powers however. Gladly so... it's dangerous."

"Well guess who does have that magic, that power?"

She looks at my blankly, before her jaw slowly drops.

"Henry bloody Spector."
