You waited patiently, though nervously for the week's end.

Night had fallen, and the hour was midnight.

You sat in the corner anxiously.

You wondered would things be better, would they be worse, would I even come at all.

You thought back to my words that I had need of you. You held on to those words like a flame in the darkest night.

The path before you was obscured and cloudy, but if I reached out you would take my hand.

You thought to yourself.

Slowly you began to fall victim to exhaustion.

Then you heard something on the wind, out your window. You saw something flying toward you.

A night bird of sorts. It flew straight towards you.

You knew, you knew instantly what it was and stuck your arm out towards it.

The fowl landed gently on your arm. Something was off it was light, too light.  This was not a bird. It moved as if to cry out but no words came out. It stretched its wings outward, then relaxed before unfolding and untwisting until what lay in your hand was a piece of parchment.
